As the situation is now in our control we obviously need to beat Lincoln.

Oxford is the team we need to finish above imo so a victory down there is critical.

They're away to Plymouth and Rotherham on the days we play Gillingham and Cambridge so they're two more pressure points.

Oh, and Sheff Wed are away to Wycombe so someone's dropping points, a draw might suit us by then.

I look at it a different way, if Sheffield wed win their game in hand we are out of the top 6, if they then go on to win their games we can’t get above them, not saying we can’t do it but I don’t think it’s in our hands.

What about the other teams though? If we win all of our games, Oxford and Plymouth lose points!

Correct, which means it’s not in our hands because they can win against us as well.<ok>After we play them and beat them then it’s in our hands, but not before.

Playing a team we need to drop points therefore it being down to us to beat them is the definition of being in our hands.

Not being in our hands is being on less points than all the teams above us not playing them and relying on others to beat them!

To be fair, and I cant do the maths, I reckon MK, Oxford, Plymouth, Sheff Wed, Us could all say it is in their hands. Just win every game and you will be in the play offs. By the same token though it is out of your hands because if your rivals win every game it is out of your hands. Exciting times I reckon, no nothing games now! The next game will always be the biggest, right to the end.

Firmly still in our hands, we play Oxford and Plymouth and it is in theirs. If any of those 3 teams drop points they probably won't make it but win all matches and they will.

Not in our hands is the possibility to win all matches left and still miss out as you are relying on teams dropping points that are above you.

It's definitely in our own hands because we've played the same amount of games as Oxford.

Beat them and they can't go above us unless they better our points haul.

Sheff Wed are at Wycombe so one or both are bound to drop points ...

... depending on the situation then we may want one to win but a draw will probably be the best result for us.

Id sooner try to knit fog than predict the 4 play off teams. For the first time in ages I agree with a manager who says 1 game at a time.

I disagree with you, if Sheffield win we are out of the top six, so if you have to rely on other teams to drop points, whoever it’s against it’s not in your hands

But if we beat Oxford we go above them and Sheff Wed would take their place not ours, so it is in our hands. We rely on Plymouth dropping points even if we beat them so that one isn't in our hands.

Like I said before, you are right if we beat Oxford, until then it’s not in our hands.

  19. If we win all our matches,we'll have 90 points. Given that we have to play Oxford and Plymouth, and others in and around us have to also play each other, that points total will certainly secure a play off spot. Therefore,it's in our hands.

My head is starting to hurt thinking about all the connotations. I think I'll agree with Alex Neil, take 1 game at a time and hopefully it works out in our favour
