That is why a compromise is key here in my opinion. It's not just Russia. China, India and Pakistan are behind them. That is seriously www3 if it escalates. You can take the moral high ground but not much use if the world is turned to radioactive dust. Was that the right, moral decision in hindsight? It's not about right and wrong when the stakes are this high, it's about a good outcome or a not really catastrophic one in any event.
So tough this stuff but small political errors can create unnecessary further massive devastation. Not the time to posture and be right, in my opinion, but the time to look for solutions and long term peace. Let's hope this works out in some way, there can be no winners really.

Agreed, what we are seeing are war monsters devoted to destruction against morality, mi5 or whoever need to assassinate immediately or the consequences could be catastrophic to us all

Dunno mate, giving a respectful exit route with compromise, however difficult to stomach, might be better.
Killing a leader is ok if you are dealing with a small volatile nation. That's not this and half the worlds military power is aligned to Putin, if not their people, but they have no say really in the case of China and Russia and perhaps the more domestically focussed India to some degree, so not convinced that is the way forward.
I know nowt but this needs careful handling, we can't think we're right and look back to history for comfort.China is a big deal and so are India. It's ****ed up but again, no point being right if the end result is 5000 nuclear warheads going off. Careful statescraft needed here and crossed fingers Putin isn't completely deranged! Complete unnecessary ****show but that's where we are.
Only upside to all this is we might stop agonising about stuff that doesn't matter in aggregate and devote time and resources to things that will benefit the whole of society.

The trouble is any compromise tells Putin he can keep invading places and getting what he wants. In the old days of the Politburo someone who wanted the big job would probably have removed him by now 'for the good of the people', but that system doesn't really exist any more. This is quickly becoming a real opportunity to topple him so we have to keep the pressure on, doing everything we can to enable the Russian people to feel like it's them removing him.

By the looks of the holes in the rear panel hatch Igor might need to pay for some engine repairs

Just got in and watched the news on various channels...

The fcuking Russian military has shelled a maternity hospital.. yet the lies that come from Russian diplomats and newspapers is incredible... I really really hate the bastards... its the nazis all over again.

NATO either has to join the fight or give Ukraine the arms, planes, missiles etc to do the job themselves. NATO is going to be active at some time soon.

I an very angry that Putin is doing this Hitler II

Well yes if you were dealing with someone rational but Putin (Hitler) is mad. Everytime we say NATO is not going to have a no fly zone or give Ukraine planes Putin is emboldened.

Imho its to prevent WW3 that we either arm the Ukrainians so they can win the war or NATO has to do it.

Its difficult to remain cool under this news barrage but cool we must stay, this egotist has overstepped the mark and everybody knows it he's finished, but still very dangerous until he is toppled, we cannot give him the excuse to take as many with him as he can, like it or not there is no easy solution but so far the West has played it pretty well and not escalated what is a horror story in the heart of Europe . Our one huge advantage is the economic interdependence of East and West and fingers crossed , that will be the deciding factor here, that's my opinion anyway. <ok>
