Russia will never get into a scrap because it will show just how old an inferior it’s equipment is. They small amount of defence equipment sent in is enough to take out most of their outdated their hardware is. If they ever had a scrap with the US they would get their Cold War arses kicked. But that’s the thing though Ellers, it wouldn’t be a straight scrap between the US and Russia (not yet anyway). They (Russia) would easily destroy Ukraine. Then it becomes a proxy war with the US equipping the forces that do actually confront the Russians. All could get messy.

And to your first point, sorry mate you do come across as arrogant sometimes…..mainly by inferring to people you don’t agree as being “stupid”. I know that’s probably not how it’s meant.
And trust me, I know I’m no angel ;)

As for the Russia/Ukraine… It won’t happen.

Bit of a stupid post Staines. You are talking about peoples lives. War is not a good thing. Plenty of Internet generals but it’s not something to glorify.

Joe Biden has moved from ''an attack is planned for tomorrow'' on to ''A Russian attack is still possible'' <doh> This sounds like the old ''The end of the World is nigh'' onto explaining why it didn't happen ! Or that it happened but nobody noticed.

You sound disappointed that it didn’t happen. Perhaps it didn’t happen because of the actions of some of the western countries. Sorry that doesn’t fit your your knee jerk narrative.

Or then again….perhaps an attack was never gonna happen and Putin has played an absolute belter, made the West look silly and has made his point.

Guess we’ll never know….possibly

Just heard Ben Wallace, the Defence Secretary, on the wireless. He wriggled a bit, but kind of admitted that, while the Ukraine has applied to join NATO and should have the right to do this, but there is no immediate chance of it happening, and NATO would not accept a member with a pre existing conflict ongoing…..as Ukraine has.

Besides, accession to NATO has to be unanimously agreed by existing members. I imagine there are a number of countries who would quietly let Putin know that they would veto.

But, according to his own essay of last year, NATO membership is a red herring. Putin wants the ‘Russian peoples’ reunited, either in Russia or in a Russian sphere of influence. Oddly familiar rhetoric……

Just watching the Ukrainian Ambassador who seems to be putting the blame for hysteria on western journalists….seems a lot of backtracking.

I guess we can all go back to the important things now like posh twats having a party and the price of Quinoa. That’ll please the usual suspects on here

Not at all……just disappointed that this board is gonna probably return to the same old **** from the same old people.
Johnson’s parties and Brexit “one upmanship” are a tad boring in my eyes…..but hey ho. Horses for courses I ‘spose.
