We all have our own thoughts and hopes to what's in store for our beloved team this season...here's my thoughts: If we can take four points from our next two games I reckon we will make the play offs.
I am just enjoying the way we are now an attacking team and if we make the play offs thats good but if not we can challenge for Automatic promotion! Imagine how good this side couple be with a couple of signings next year!
At least Ipswich can't play their best player against us! I checked out what would happen if the current form was continued for the remaining games and the season ended like this. 1.Forest 96 2.QPR 84 3.Leicester 84 4.Swansea 83 5.Cardiff 82 6.Norwich 82 7.Leeds 76 8.Burnley 74 9.City 73 10.Millwall 72 I think we've left things a bit late and we still need to improve the amount of wins we get, while hoping that other teams start messing up. It's not out of the question, we're heading in the right direction, but I still think it's a bit of a long shot.
As far as I'm concerned after the start we had we left ourselves with far too much to do to challenge for the play offs, however after the start we had and the fact we had very serious financial problems, finishing in the top 10 while being financial secure is a great achievement and provides us with a platform to build upon for next year.
Having to play 8 of the teams currently above us before the end of the season could do us some good. If we do reach the play offs then we would have really earned it, if we fall short then Pearson should be able to identify where we're lacking ready for next season.
agreed, we are making no dent in the 7 point gap, other teams are matching out form, and we would probably need to win nearly every game to stand any chance, as soon as we draw, the gap will probably get even bigger!..., a bridge too far this season me thinks
I'm not that sad. I just took the points per game for the last eight and multiplied them by each teams remaining games and that's what you get.
Be great if we sneak the play-offs but if we miss out I think we might steamroller the league next season, I think the current management team and board is the best I have seen at the club in my lifetime.
My personal feelings at the beginning of the season was I thought it was a bridge too far to get into the Playoffs and bounce straight back into the top flight but hopefully in the summer we recruit well and kick on from there. However we've got to play most of the top half yet so there's a long long way to go yet. You never know.
people seem to not be willing to take into consideration how important relegation fight might be... teams at the bottom will fight for their lives to stay up and could easily gain points of the top 10... let's not focus on it, let's see what happens... i don't see how any of these teams will keep the momentum... if we can keep a steady gain of points we'll be there abouts, no need to focus too much on it just yet, lets see where we are in 6/7 games
I think we are in with a decent chance of making the playoffs ...... We need to be on between 70-75 points by the end of the season which means we need 25 to 30 more to be in with a shout. So personally rather than worrying about what the other teams are doing I am focusing on what city is doing and how they are playing at the moment and with a bit of luck coupled with some team spirtit and skill we are going to be able to knock another three points of those 30 come saturday evening ..... and the way we are playing at the moment and the way NP has the team running I am sure we will ..... The only teams performance and form to worry about is the one you are playing at the time. So 15 games left and need an average of 2 points per game .....
At the beginning of the season I thought we could go up automatically. I failed to realise the ineptness of manager and "Director of Football Operations", and the fact that they seem to want us to be a long term mid table Championship team. I'm sure they'll get their wish, but we won't progress with them here.
Yep, what a pair of tossers, they've hardly signed anyone decent, the debt is still crippling us and they partake in the ritual slaughter of kittens at weekends.
OLM, you don't half make me chuckle sometimes, and TWF failed to call Barmby a **** a second time in a row!
Yeah, NP no idea on the kind of players we needed, and can't keep his mouth shut about who we are after, and, AP has hocked the club into bankruptcy to get players well past their sell-by dates and will play when they are sober enough (allegedly)! Please start a petition, OLM, to bring back the best team that The Tigers ever had!!!!!
I can't believe that we've let our best player go out on loan, while we continue to pay a large slice of his wages, it's bordering on the criminal. Any idiot can see how weak we are on the left now Kilbane has gone.
