I see what you and @Teessidemackem are saying but maybe they feel the need to give it the full fanfare and there just hasn't been the time for that yet.

If Neil being appointed is the only announcement, it would be very brave of them to give it the full fanfare after the Keane saga of this week. Surely makes more sense to just announce it, a sentence or two would do.

I suppose, but it would be a bit unfair on him not to big him up. Anyway, announced now so we can all rest easy.
