So Zouma's brother is suspended by Dagenham and Redbridge while Zouma himself plays for West Ham against Watford. Shows which club has morals and integrity and which is bereft of it, but what else would you expect from the morally bankrupt premier league, where literal murderers are welcomed with open arms because they're not Mike Ashley

Martinelli gets 2 yellows for 2 offences in the same passage of play. Finally a great piece of reffing.

Doesnt this go completely against your theory the other week of “he wouldn’t have done that if he was on a yellow”?

Woeful refereeing again from supposedly one of the better ones in this country.

I heard Martin Keown suggesting something similar.

I’m 100% in the side of good refereeing here though. Even if Martinelli didn’t know he was on a yellow card, he should have been able to guess he might be, and not risk another challenge straight away.

It may be unusual (and if that qualifies it as weird fair enough) but I think it was spot on to award two yellows and therefore a red.

Yeah, I don't see a problem with it. Playing advantage after a foul meriting a yellow card isn't that unusual, and I feel like it'd be a bit problematic to then deem any further challenges made to effectively be freebies given that they haven't yet received the first yellow. I'd be rather annoyed if a player made a (failed) lunge that a player rode, then tracked them down and wrestled them to the ground, and received just the one yellow for their trouble.

No. In this case he committed 2 blatant yellow card offences within seconds of each other. Definitely the right decision to give him 2 yellows.

I suspect it's more that one cost thirty million and the other could easily be replaced.

Which Beatles song is that? I listened to them loads around 2007, 2008 but that lyric isn't familiar. Now it's mostly here comes the sun and in my life, and that's because they're in my summer and nostalgia playlists respectively
