Personally think McCann will be a terrible appointment. He got Hull promoted but they had a very strong squad in the weakest League 1 since we’ve been down here. It seemed to be in spite of McCann they went up not because of him. He also struggled with the pressure from fans at Hull so he’ll be way out of his depth here.

It’s telling that Hull and Peterborough fans speak very poorly of him.

I think Neil is head and shoulders ahead of him and would be a much better option. I’d rather have an unproven coach such as Kisnorbo.

Completely deflated it is is McCann. Not the same as Parkinson but just as depressing. Really hope Football Insider are incorrect or I’m proved wrong.

Its more the **** show that the club has put on. They could have appointed McCann on the 30th Jan and be done with it. This "process" and the dance toward Keane has been an utter shambles
It's been abysmal since the announcement that Johnson had been sacked.
It's a multi million pound business that's employing people not fit for purpose.

I think Keane's been complicit in that. He led us all on with all that smiling and the suggestive comments...

Not the first time I've been burnt that way when I think about it..

From my limited knowledge of Alex Neil - he “fits” in many ways. But as others have said - meh.

We have tried to 'put the hard yards in'. Remember PP. We have tried the young and up-coming manager in Ross, we have tried the L1 promotion specialist (PP), and tried the play better football (LJ). None have worked. It isn't necessarily big names that people want ( we had that for years in the PL and failed), it is results and promotion.
Results and promotion then review and continue to review

Keane’s ego will love the circus. This has put him back on the map as somebody seriously considering coming back to management, whilst also maintaining his “standards” view.

The guy loves cash. You only have to look at all the adverts he pops up on now, and TV deals all over the shop.

They have tore our season apart only to appoint someone absolutely no better than what we had. Hope I'm wrong but KLD seems like a puppet or just useless.

For me people are missing the point. It's not even really about Keane, its the whole type of appointment.

We've tried the lower league experience card and the promotion on cv card and look where its got us, this really needs to give a lift to the whole place which is lower than I think I've ever seen it.

McCann and Neil don't really do that do they?

I’ve tried to add some balance. I don’t like Speakman. I think it’s very likely this has been caused my his incompetence.

I’m saying I think he MIGHT not be entirely to blame. We don’t even have one side of this story yet, let alone both.

Either way, it seems pretty clear to me from fan opinion that his position is absolutely untenable. Whether this is entirely his fault or just slightly his fault - he’s done. He has no credibility with fans, media or the industry.

If he ever had any it is gone and gone forever. And it IS HIS fault. Either he doesn't go after Keane, or he does. You sort this out in a few days. Every other club does this, often in a day. But not with this amateur chancer.

This is his responsibility and he has ****ed up in so almighty a way as should preclude him from ever working in football at this level again.

For all the gobbledegook coming relentlessly from his inane mouth, this is an utterly rudderless ship, and he is meant to be the captain.

I agree with you to a certain extent. Given what has been said previously, I'm surprised Edwards, Manning, Maresca, or someone else of that ilk hasn't been more closely linked.

I never wanted Keane and quite frankly think the fawning over someone who nobody has wanted as manager for 11 years is baffling.

Nonetheless, to take 10 days to get to this point is equally as baffling.

However it's going to be practically impossible for speakman to fully explain what's happened without completely undermining whoever does get it.
Mu guess has always been, keane wants to break the model with full control & the salary package is just too high.

If they didn't realise that Keane would want more control than Johnson they should never have entertained the idea. These people should take up crown green bowling, as they clearly do not have the first clue about football.
