Brexit could never be driven by Northern Ireland. And the Northern Ireland issue would never be resolved on paper by EU negotiators on the Trade Agreement demanding their rights. It had to be a pragmatic solution, and the EU are beginning to see that a hard line, purists, punishment type approach will not work. As in most issues involving NI, it will take time to resolve. In the meantime, the rest of the UK get on with what the majority of the electorate voted for. Boris delivered it. May wanted an unworkable compromise that pleased no one, apart from possibly the EU.

I don't really have the inclination to talk about the ins and outs of Brexit as we'll never agree so it's a pointless waste of time. I am, however, making a very simple point that Boris broke his promise in a way that May did not. You might think that's justified, which is entirely your right, but that doesn't obfuscate that he broke his word, as he always does.

Ok. Well what I would do, is focus more on the broken Tory manifesto policies that got them into power in the first place.
It’s really good that you are now getting involved in politics after so long. It could be argued that through the apathy of people like yourself throughout the years…..that’s what’s got us into this mess of a Tory government in the first place.
Keep now fighting the good fight Bob….we will overcome
That could well be argued Staines but whilst people, especially the Tory voters turn a blind eye to the stream of broken manifesto promises, then i cant see anything changing. If only the media would highlight all these broken promises then people who dont take much of an interest in politics could see the damage they have done and are doing to this country. I actually agree with you, parties at no.10 should be one of the least reasons why people want this **** show out. The list of **** ups, u-turns, flip flopping decisions is endless, put that on top of constant lies, constant misleading of Parliment and the parties, then i struggle to see how even the hardcore Tories can still defend this lot, nevermind support them. I suppose you reap what you sow.

Just remember, no conservative government would ever put a border down the Irish sea. It would just never happen.....but this excellent deal we negotiated and signed is now so 'crazy' that it has to be changed.

I feel now that maybe you at least might be getting what I’m trying to say, whereas some on here are quite happy to slander me as a Tory supporter, willing to overlook Johnson’s transgressions.
I just feel there are other, more important things that should and could be brought up.
But then on the flip side, and I thought about this the other day…..I guess Al Capone was brought down through something as minor as Tax evasion, while the crimes he actually committed were far worse, and it was just a means to an end…..a crap analogy maybe but made sense in my head.

But as you rightly state, hardcore Tory voters will vote Tory anyway, whatever the transgression…….dig up Thatchers corpse, put a blue rosette on it and they would still vote her in……it’s the thousands of others we’ve got to convince.

If they dug up Thatcher’s corpse I’d appreciate the hustle. Die Die Thatcher etc.

The analogy is a good one actually. I like it. I guess the police actually wanted to prosecute Capone for murder etc. while our press and politicians seem intent on forgiving Johnson’s equivalent transgressions.

Quite a good analogy that actually

Why does Sunak say it’s ‘dishonest’ to keep gas and electricity prices ‘artificially low’?

I genuinely don’t understand the language. Against his principles as a free marketeer, fair enough, but why ‘dishonest’?

Genuine question.

And what ****ing right has that fat **** who heads up the Bank of England got to tell workers not to ask for pay rises that keep pace with inflation? **** off.

Joe Bloggs in Burnley doesn’t know what “against his principles as a free marketeer” means and will somehow convince himself his bills would be higher under Labour.

Everyone sees through it strolls, apart from those who choose to turn a blind eye. Nobody takes this lot seriously. They should have their own comedy show.

apparently they don't care much about fraud as they didn't bother with their crime statistics so i might put myself on a self imposed UC. It's fine nobody died
