that's who I'm mainly supporting when I buy a poppy... I also give to the Erskine hospital to support the wounded.
I get your point ... I agree that it's not automatic and should be given to thos who do something out of line with their normal life i.e a fireman who goes back into a building to rescue someone when it was overly dangerous!
I give all my money to charity and live in a converted two up two down shoebox just off the Dual Carriageway. It's not ideal but I like to do my bit. Going to be difficult what with the clocks going back and the weather turning foul but at least I can sleep at night. Dunno what I'll do for Xmas though. If you spot me just outside Altens feel free to spare 20p for a cuppa tea. Cheers
Respecting servicemen is a different question It's the word hero that get applied to them Nazi soldiers who risked their lives for their mates.....are heroes too.....they might be ****s/kuntz but if they did something heroic then fair play
Strangely enough there is some dodgy station playing on the wireless and what came on but Bonnie Tyler and "I need a Hero". Spooky or what? Or are there more sinister forces at work perhaps?
