I hope we're able to get a deal done for Carvalho. This kid looks special - very similar to Coutinho.
And cheap. In the end he could become the next mark gonzalez for all we know. The most important thing is if we get them in general it's cos klopp wants them and I'd hope the buy for value attitude has been stopped as minamino shows well what that leads to. Nice guys to fit the model and represent a potential profit but will simply never fit the first team in any way. Hell even nat Phillips could fit the first team and stand and head the ball enough to achieve some results. Carvalho looks a decent talent there but he will be 3rd choice for lw behind mane and Diaz so we imo will have to see if he comes in right away or gets a loan to Fulham etc etc. Maybe he would do an Elliott? But to get a 5mil, home grown, lw with decent talent is a great opportunity
Loan to Fulham this season at least seems fairly certain. After that it probably depends on how Diaz looks, Mane's contract situation, whether Fulham get promoted etc.
I don't know much about this young Carvalho but at £5m and loaned back to Fulham for the rest of the season seems a good deal. I think he's out of contract in the summer so could leave them for no fee. Come on Fulham, you know it makes sense.
Good signing for championship. Really surprised some lower prem clubs weren’t jn. He’s be absolutely ideal at Burnley as a replacement for tarkowski who is out of contract in the summer.
I reckon he is better off getting in on the up with Bournemouth and not on the downer with no mark burnley. It's only 6 months in the championship
Look, when certain clubs are too no mark and too cheap to pony up the derisory sum we are asking its hardly shocking they are going down. When you've people like Vieira and arteta obsessed with passing short from thr back they see a giant cb and say no thanks. What Dean Smith, Sean duchess and Frank lampard are thinking is anyone's guess. Most of all though some have changed their manager so late in the window they have not time to really get a look at squads.
Yeah grossly under estimated. Imo he needs a certain style that Hodgson say would play but if you want to defend in layers he is absolutely ideal to stand and deal with everything. If you were Leeds where you want 1 on 1 defending and risk, not so much.
TBh in the inability to sell origi (for 3 years) and in ability to shift nat phillips is a black stain on the already tenuous career of michael Edwards. I'm sure you'll all agree it can't come too soon that the door hits him on the way out. when origi was in demand edwards ask 30mil and was laughed at. When clubs came calling for minamino, edwards said 20mil When clus asked about phillips its was 15mil. not every club has eddie howe in charge. you can't live on a couple stupid bids that eventually did for howe to have a rep.
I think Fulham are holding out for more. I think we'd still have to pay a development fee or whatever in the summer like for Elliott.
