Its the same players. Any manager at Johnson's level will be able to drill a centre back pairing. Its down to the players. Batth might be a partial solution but we're yet to see that.
When Johnson balanced the side - largely when he had to - we looked good. When he had choices we threw goals in.
Exactly they know nowt about who our next manager will be but they know everything about manipulating the market to make a few Bob
I’m Not keen on this attitude. Best man for the job for me. Not saying he is it mind. Within reason of course. I wouldn’t have Steve Wraith
Alardyce used to say when he came into a club he first sorted out what the team does when it doesn’t have the ball Once that was sorted they had a platform to play off. Unfortunately for LJ he wanted us to play without first sorting out the basics
Hmm. I'm not sure that's entirely right. If we were OK in a back 3 then he must have got things partially right. If we struggled with 2 then that's more of a failing on the players part. Of course, he should have known not to play with only 2 cbs under the circumstances.
Sorry no I meant we get the best man from the job wherever they played football or were born. I’m not saying Ferguson is that person- but if they have good reason to think he is then his Mag history isn’t a problem.
Do you think he'd intentionally sabotage his first managerial role? Outside of Scotland he's an Everton man if anything, he won't give a **** about Newcastle. He wasn't there long. Out of the suggested candidates he's the one that interests me the most, I've got a feeling he'd be a good fit. Seems to have the best bits of Keane/Di Canio without the negatives.
We only needed a back three because We had such a weak midfield who were a shambles when we lost the ball. Left the defence exposed Saying that I think LJ almost cracked it. If he had brought in a strong DM I think things would have been different
