It was a bad defeat, and we all know Sunderland fans are not patient, and very self entitled. I’m sure it will make a few on here happy.
Hardly surprising, they expect automatic promotion, that seems unlikely now. He’s failed, he’s been sacked, he know the gig when he took the job and he isn’t exactly going to be skint Is he.
Sitting 3rd in League 1, not good enough and has got him his marching orders.. Will the new boss be expected to achieve at least survival!!
6-0 is a drubbing however you try and dress it up, but only last fortnight their press were reporting on how great things were under him.
Word is amongst some of the fans is that he lost the dressing room, saying the owner maybe had his hand forced by this, again the fans are surprised because they thought he was well safe, because the owner rated and supported him.
3rd in the league and sacked for 1 heavy defeat, very strange, must be a reason more than just one defeat, it does not make sense unless of course the fanbase wanted him out. Just read jiffie's comment, pure coincidense..
Who knows, the weight of fan expectation, and sheer desperation spring to mind. Much like Watford, they have trigger happy owner, which rarely breeds long term success
3rd in the league, but a mile off the automatic places, which isn't good enough realistically. It wasn't 1 heavy defeat, we've been trounced multiple times this season in the third division which, again, isn't good enough. When it was good under Johnson it was very good, but it could turn to utter **** overnight for apparently no reason, and usually stayed that way for weeks at a time. He just wasn't consistent enough.
They need to give their heads a wobble-third in the league and they sack him pathetic. Hope they stay down-no divine right to promotion. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Christ we got thumped by Fulham but we don’t sack Pearson for that.
ah well cross them off me off my will list to succeed looking for 13th manager in 10 years!!!! worse than Watford ..... ?
Not really much of a surprise but it makes me wonder why would they pull the plug given their current league position? I believe old nipper made some comments on social media that ticked some teams off which I presume is why he's not likely to take over at Spurs or Arsenal any time soon.
has just increased his property empire up there! ....... How long before he gets next job .. golden handshake will be nice one .. probably 3 times he got from city ...
I can't get my head around the facts he was awarded league 1 manager of the month in December, 3rd place in the table and sacked in January, there has got to be a reason, I'm not an LJ fan by any means but this seems so strange, you never know in football, they even won their first bit of silver for years through him last season, just don't get it.
