Same !! From the former pro’s in coaching list, I’d go for Carrick. Good connections at Tottenham and Man Utd, recent experience with first team coaching and management. Dark side I know but links to the north east. A tactically aware footballer who reads the game well.

No idea who will take over. Might just be a foreign manager off everyone’s radar except Kyril and his team. Wasn’t poyet a shoe in just before Johnson. Wonder if they would re visit that. I think KLD had to act as Johnson had clearly lost a lot of the fan base. The timing is bad though at this point in the window. Hopefully it won't interfere with any remaining transfer business we have to do. We need that defensive midfielder in pronto. Otherwise, whoever comes in still has the same problems to deal with as Johnson- namely finding the right balance from a squad overstocked with wingers but no defensive midfielders and only one senior centre forward.
