I very much hope he has, but I also hope any new manager we eventually get is presently working at another club, I don't want anyone off the football dole queue. My point was that if we're writing off this season, then we can plan now for a summer appointment, ( or as soon as our fate is decided this season) Let's see Speakman earn his corn.
didn't realise he was unpopular with the players. if thats the case I see absolutely no benefit in keeping him
Yip. Without going into too much detail, why do you think Chris Maguire turned into prime Pele and gave that specific celebration? I think your post will help you figure it out.
It's very worrying when stuff like this gets mentioned. Very very few hang around if/when the dressing room decides it's time for the gaffer to go. I think I've gone to the 'in' side of the fence, to sitting on the actual fence and I'm currently dismounting onto the 'out' side of the fence within 24hrs. Not a pleasent weekend.
If he is that unpopular you would like to think the owners have noticed and spoken to him. Or are they that blinded by his waffle? Either way its a concern
He is a good talker. No doubt about it. Plus when the goings good, no one really has any interest in th stuff we are talking about. However, the proof is in the pudding and when the chips are down, look at how they perform for him.
It's shocking, I fully agree but can't see how the owners can't see it. Are they that blinded by the project
I wonder what has gone on in training through the week to turn out a performance like that after beating Pompey though? They should have been flying. He must be royally pissing some of them off for them to churn out that **** yesterday.
Sums my opinion up well. Proof is in the results .. and our results are not those of a promotion winning team. I recall seeing his photo at the start of the season after the break and my impression of him was of a bloated peacock. I now question whether our owner is serious about making our football club Premier standard or is he also just a peacock, liking the status ... I OWN A FOOTBALL CLUB.
we all knew a 'pumped up' maguire is an asset to any team in this league but i have never seen him as hyper, also looked as if he had the rest of the team just as pumped...really makes you think what actually happened or what was said as it looks to be more than just a regular, run of the mill player/manager type fall out.
I think we should be looking at it another way. There's no need to write the season off yet, we are still in the mix for promotion, possibly automatically, but more realistically through the play offs. However, I do agree with you that we should be planning now for Johnson's replacement, irrespective of whether promotion is achieved or not. If he can't set a side up to keep clean sheets in this division, he's got no chance if we go up. The search for his replacement should begin now and when that person is available to take over (in the summer or sooner), then Johnson is shown the door.
I reckon Chris Maguire could fall out with his own shadow. Not in a million years is he the benchmark to use if we are considering whether players dont like Johnson.
It should have started when we appointed him really. We should be thinking '3 shots (head coaches) ahead', like snooker players.
They may surprise us and unveil a new coach, but irrespective of what happens for the rest of this season, Johnson shouldn't be in charge after May.
I do think he will see the season out mind. Unless this dressing room stuff kicks off and everything goes pear shaped. As I said earlier, get the Wembley hotels booked.
I’m amazed he hasn’t resigned or been sacked, I don’t know how he dares show his face in the ground again spouting his s hite.
I really really want us to stick with a manager/head coach to build something and stop chopping and changing when it doesn't go how we would like as fans. And I guess this is the test. Its when there is that bad period that the above longer term stability idea is threatened. I still come back to whether this squad is automatic. And I just don't think it is so it's therefore hard to judge Johnsons league position from that core belief. I think its a playoff team and its in play offs so where do I go from there? At the same time 7 wins in last 22 games (taking cup pen win as a draw in 90 minutes so call it 8 in 22 if you want) is completely indefensible. As is losing 6 zip and 5-1 in league 1 and having worst away goals conceded record in league 1. In all honesty I think I'm at point where I just don't know. If he was sacked now I certainly wouldn't be in uproar about it. What we don't know is Speakman and Kyrils view on it, they might be secretly fuming about it for all we know when everyone is assuming his job is totally safe. Nowt will happen anyway right now as they will be too busy in transfer market.
Sadly yesterday I accepted the top two ship has sailed. For the first time this season I even began to worry about the playoffs. The above in black and white is a clear indication of that
