Did she get the vaccine due to mandates or the like? Or because she wanted to? Do you know?
I’d suggest that if she lives in the U.K. and doesn’t work in some very specific fields it was most likely a choice as we have not really had hard mandates or passports at all. Indeed you could get into most places by showing negative tests.
I’m not aware that we had anything like in the US where federal workers are being fired. Other than the looming NHS situation which hasn’t happened yet. But I haven’t been paying full attention since it hasn’t impacted me. My work doesn’t require it, can be done at home and I have decided not to deal with the faff of going overseas since this started. So I haven’t paid 100% attention to how the rules have varied.
Also - given the position you are coming from I’d suggest saying “that article isn’t peer reviewed” to dismiss someone is not the route you want to be going down.
Her job mandated it.
She works for a care home company. In the recruitment department, so not even in contact with patients. It was just a blanket mandate for all employees.
The choice was take the vaccine or lose her job, and now it’s changed her life.
You can all bury your heads in the sand about this stuff, and absorb the mainstream media’s view without critically thinking about it. But this stuff is real, important and worth thinking about very deeply.
It’s interesting that godders mentioned the dunning Krueger effect, as that’s exactly how I feel about all your responses.
You mean well. You want to trust the government and do the right thing. I respect that. But you’re missing the big picture. I respect all your views, but I have seen the other side of this and it isn’t pretty.
