Having attended football matches over the years with a 3 month old and a five year old I have to say it was less hassle with the baby - neither were mine by the way. The plus point with the baby was by the time she was a toddler she was used to the environment and surroundings and enjoyed being there. The five year old was first taken when he turned five and we had to resort to entertaining him in the second half. It improved once he started playing football himself. They are 18 and 30 respectively this year and both still attend.

How refreshing after 11 painful years to have an owner who loves football & sees the fans as the lifeblood of the club & not an inconvenience to be treated with contempt.
Assem Allem may be good at flogging diesel engines but what he knew about the game of football & how to engage with football fans could be written on the back of a postage stamp!!!

Get a similar feeling about Acun as Adam Pearson. He came in with a plan of how to improve things on and off the pitch, engage with fans and increase crowds and take us forward before buying us. He didn't have the money to take us all the way but Acun with his own and his contacts probably will. Could be some interesting and exciting times ahead

Just finished work and trying to catch up on the soundbites of Acun's interview, talk about having you in the palm of his hand. After such an acrimonious period under the Allams this really is music to my ears, the positivity the guy promotes is ridiculous, and after a lengthy period away I'll be there tomorrow putting money into the pocket of someone who genuinely seems to care about the club and the fans, together with my lad and our partners, well done for helping us believe again.

New Hull City owner Acun Ilicali wants to bring Premier League football back to East Yorkshire following his takeover of the Championship side.

The Turkish owner, whose Acun Medya Group has replaced the Allam family as custodians of the Tigers, met the media along with new boss Shota Arveladze.


Arveladze's appointment is Ilicali's first part of the plan for promotion.

"I'm here to achieve something that everybody would be very happy about," the 52-year-old said.

"In football, happiness comes from results. So the first thing [for Hull City] is good football, then results of course. I will be very, very happy if we come into the Premier League. By the way, I am here for that."

The Tigers side inherited by the ownership, and new boss Arveladze - who replaced Grant McCann this week - is nine points clear of the bottom three but 15 points outside of the play-offs.

While the immediate outlook might be to retain their Championship status, Ilicali's ambitions are grander.

"People are talking about relegation; I am thinking about promotion," he added.

"My brain always works for the positive, I always have positive thoughts and that makes me dream."

Ilicali and Arveladze have just days left of the transfer window to complete their business, but have already made moves to revamp the squad.

The owner says in-demand winger Keane Lewis-Potter will remain a Tiger, regardless of Premier League interest.

My lads first game was Rushden Diamonds away. 3-3. He was 5. Fidgety little thing. I was trying not to swear or celebrate our goals as we were sat in the home end.

No way was he supporting Leicester.

So far Acun has a solid 10/10 from me, he’s done everything I would have wanted from a new owner; better comms, ambition & engagement.

Does anyone have any concerns over him? The only small concern is do he really have the money to back a return to the prem league?? The Allams are worth more & they couldn’t sustain it

For all the other ills from them, financially the club is ok and sustainable I think. Acun doesn’t seem mental and i suspect he’s worth more than you think. He’s got a decent business head on him too and a long term plan.

As weird as it feels, I’m really optimistic about all of this.

I’m certain that only two games ticket prices a season can be changed, it was a rule brought in to protect season pass holders, prices have to be published before the season starts, that’s why tomorrow’s ridiculous £27 still applies

Just listened to the press conference on the BBC website.It’s clear that Acun is making the return of fans into the stadium his number one focus (transfer window excepted),and by the sounds of it,is budgeting a loss initially on ticketing in the hope the bigger numbers become the norm.

Ultimately,success on the pitch will see them return week on week but giving tickets away for £2 for u-16s,seniors and a guest of membership holders for the Barnsley game is a low-risk gesture and given as its a midweek fixture,then no weekend plans would be disrupted for those who don’t normally attend.

it’ll be interesting to see if this leads to a revised pricing structure for next season,in particular matchday admission prices which I still think are a tad expensive.
