Rooting for Ivory Coast coz they got a lad that came through our academy, Max Gradel ... didn't quite make it with us and was eventually shipped off to dirty Leeds .. but was a fans favourite as he was a bit of a precocious maverick ...

Shout out to Papys Mendy too... into the QF with Senegal and helping to keep Mane away from the Prem for as long as possible <whistle>

Just came across this clip, some nice goals there but it made me think, was gazza really that good or just bigged up by the British fans.?

I ask because that show reel is nice but I don't see best player in the world there personally.

So gazza = was the real deal?

Or just flavour of the month for a while.?

Its before my time so all I hear about gazza is how good he was yet all us younger fans mostly think of him as a drunk bum.


19 in all comps = smallish numbers these days no?

He was flavour of the month pretty much every month from the time he started his career to the point of his retirement so I'd say he was the real deal.

I've watched games he played for Tottenham, Rangers and Newcastle and he was immense.
