Being linked with another winger Jack Clarke from Spurs.

Really highly rated lad I’d assume there’d be a winger going of owt in it as we overloaded with them.
We only really have Gooch, Dajuku and Roberts and I can see Gooch being used more has a wingback. Embleton can play there but he is better in the number 10 role. Diamond I'm sure will be sent back out on loan. Mcgeady is probably still someway off before he is ready.

I have already said this a number of times - we now have a very professional management team with a competent recruitment and data driven team to support the process of identifying suitable acquisitions . We already have evidence of their capabilities from the Summer transfer window which is one of the best in recent memory so I think we should have the good grace to accept that they know what they are doing and let them bring a closure to the January window with suitable additions signed sealed and delivered . Here’s hoping !!!

hume looks to be away, AoB and geads getting mentioned...hume has struggled to get his place back and has not had the run of games he would need to get his match sharpness up, not wanting to put the lad down but wondering how much use he will be to another team right now, surely they would prefer a match ready player.

AoB as i said elsewhere has not really looked interested although seemed back to his old self against pompey, someone mentioned first child just arrived so that may be it...geads is going to be similar to hume, time out due to injury and really needing games to get up to speed otherwise he is far less effective.

gooch is a strange one to me, i think he would like to stay here but if the club are getting more wingers in that can be more consistent i can see them letting him go...he has improved of late but at times he still runs himself into a corner when a simple pass or early cross is on.

I've said it many times but he hasn't got a football brain and his decision making is poor I do like him but after all these years if he's not learnt it now he never will.

The part I really don't get is how could a player with such obvious skill go through the ranks all the way to pro (and international for that matter) without out ever learning to get his head up often enough? It's not like he won't have been told every practice since he was 9.

Agree with you both here. I really like Gooch and would like him to succeed here given the commitmen he made at an early age he deserves it.

But I always think the same thing he doesn't get his head up and look. He seems to hardly ever make the right decision but not sure if that's something to do with him never seeing the easy ball as he looks at the ground.

Given the lads age and profile I wouldn't be surprised if we were after Clinton Mola. Good pedigree, hasn't played much and is available

when gooch does look up he has put some excellent crosses into the box and some nice passes to feet...i think we can all agree on that, he just seems to do something very good then tries one touch too many for a few times, personally i like what he brings to the team as a fast outlet and taking defenders on, they never know what he will do next, unfortunately neither does he at times...i think he has been better lately providing some good chances, but as ever, it is his lack of consistency that frustrates the fans.

Dont understand the negativity about Gooch. Hes got his limitations - that's why hes in L1 - but he covers loads of positions, provides many assists, works tirelessly and can finish. Hed walk into every L1 team.
