Grant has known about his fate for a while now. He's done himself absolutely no harm these last few weeks and the whole of last season. When he goes he wont be out of work long at all. L1 teams will be falling over themselfs to hire him and get them out. The wider footballing world knows exactly what he's had to put up with in his time here.

He's a great guy and deserves to have a shot with us now the new owners are in place. But football is a cruel world

Yeah big cheques really make it a cruel world.

It's a shame to see him go but if you're definitely getting rid of him at the end of the season then you might as well let him go now.

Last season's squad has been my favourite City side for years but in order to challenge at the top end of the Championship, a major overhaul is needed and there's going to be a lot of great pros leaving.

It's nice for Grant to get a bit of appreciation at the end as he's taken a hell of a lot of stick from fans

It would make sense to replace McCann with someone that has a proven record that reassures we are very likely to quickly improve on our current form and position. But is that Shota Arveladze? I very much hope so but it’s hard to be super confident.

I think this is spot on, not enough of us know much about him, we can only look at his wiki page and surmise, so we are bound to be nervous

Maybe they thought before the last few games when it never looked so good that they had confidence in shota to keep us in this division so they can push on next season.

If we went with someone who we all knew about then there is not many that people would want a couple of exceptions in Bruce maybe 1 or 2 others.

Is Pesic one of the signings that’s likely Howden?
He is according you Yagiz Sabincuoglu, the Turkish sports journalist who said Grant was on his way…no idea how ITK he is as he doesn’t post on here…or does he?

“Hull City signed Aleksandar Pesic for 2.5 million Euros. Pesic will leave for England within the week” half an hour ago

I see it as majority of these players aren't good enough to take us to the next level, safety is 99% certain this season now. Those players are Grant's like we've seen already he wanted to keep Magennis like he'll probably want to keep Smallwood, Elder etc so he brings someone in who will be happy to see the back of them then giving those who are staying, KLP Greaves etc 6 months to get used to him. Just my views anyway #InAcunWeTrust

If this is true, as others have said, I think it’s the wrong decision. Sentiment aside, McCann staying seemed like the best route to safety and then, at the end of the season, appraise.

However, most of us have wanted rid of the Allam family for years. Therefore, we now have to support the new regime.

I’m all for questioning power, in all walks, but in this case, we need to support the new owners and wait and see what flies.

Plus, if McCann did stay and the next game was akin to the Stoke debacle, the goodwill that’s flowing freely at the minute would soon trickle to a stop,

Unfortunately, nowhere near 99%.

We saw in 2019/2020 how one can sink like a stone, and go from safety to where?

It’s not a matter of “someone we all knew about”, that’s a false argument that no one has made (or I didn’t, anyway). It’s about someone in whom there is confidence he will do better than what we have now. And it’s far from certain that that is Arveladze.
