Having just walked through the door a couple of days ago I though he did very well.
Solid no nonsense. As the game went on you could see him starting to organise things at the back.
Think he will be just what we need.
Doyle definitely benefited from having him beside him thought he was excellent today.
Flanagan well. I actually like the lad but not sure what he was up to at times today.

I reckon he is just what we need. He put it in the stand when needed and headed it clear when required. Good signing imo.

Been debating today if a three at the back with Wright Batth and Doyle would work My pal thinks it might not be mobile enough but I fancy it could give us a very solid platform. Allow Doyle to drive forward and free up the wingbacks to get forward.

I've always felt the key to 2 at the back is a cm, that will drop in when one of the centre half's goes forward.

That's fine with players like Evans who do the dirty work, but not so sure how others would fit in.

Edit that's also fine with wing backs that push on and we press high up, but can become a 5 if we don't and that to me just invites pressure

Very much the discussion I had today. Two strong centre backs and a strong CM is ideal I think we definitely need a new strong CM But with our limited strength in the team should we play a 3 behind him or a two. Can’t decide. All I know is we need someone to take control of midfield and allow the young lads to play

Flanagan head seems to have gone the past few games, a great shame as he was in his best form before Christmas and the reported link from 3 Championship clubs... something wasn't working first half with the back 3 , wingbacks and Evans CM. Thought Evans and the new lad played well... think it proves we need a strong battling CM in front of the defence, need to address this as Evans won't last a dozen games from previous stats?
