If he does I reckon location and coaching will be a part of this. can totally understand the no if he just wasn’t a fit for how we are now now
If JD signs for anither L1 team then we can safely say that KLD etc have no ambition at all. If he signs for another L1 team it shows that we won't/can't compete with others. Have we actually spent anything of note under KLD? JD will guarantee us goals and for me it will show what ambition the current owner has for us as he hasn't spent anything of note far as I am aware...this is our chance to get out this horrible league Now I'm not saying that throwing money around in this league is the answer but KLD so far seems to be all fart and no sh@te
i honestly don’t think he's bothered about coaching in league one He surely just bothered about playing. He’ll want to be starter in his (probable) last season He wouldn’t get that here. Good luck to him
I would love Defoe here although I do understand why some posters are reticent. However not signing does not show a lack of ambition
I really think it does and I hope KLD gets it done as strikers like him at this level do not come along very often. Wherever he goes he will score goals at this level even at his age. Its a no brainer for me
Taking the red and white nostalgic glasses off, as much as I would like Defoe to re-sign, he is the same as any other player the club talks to. They negotiate and either come to an agreement and he signs or he turns the offer down and we move onto the next target. It's not the fault of the manager or the board/owner or lack of ambition if he doesn't sign
Honestly think if he goes somewhere else it will be because we wont give any guarantees. For us best he can hope for is impact sub. For Oxford he may well be told he will play lots. It wont be a case of Oxford over us, it will be a case of his demands arent right for us. We shouldnt get bent out of shape about this one in my opinion, we need different to him, as good as he once was. He was only ever a cherry on top of a cake for me.
