It makes me wonder but so do lots of things, just not enough to base my opinion of KLD on though. After seeing the mess that Short's 'investment' created I'm a little more cautious these days.
Fair enough mate, all i know is we need to be out of this league asap because as a club we're sinking into obliviation in this country and Worldwide. Potentially It takes millions and millions to be a success in the Prem, millions in the Championship but in League 1 its a different story. We were taken over early last year from a young ambitious Billionaire. Wheres the cash??
It's nearly impossible to spend millions in this league, even if you wanted to. You have to be hell bent on making a point to do so, and even then you're looking at a certain calibre of player with no guarantees (see Exhibit A - Will Grigg). A good loan, a Ross Stewart, a Cirkin etc constitutes very good business in this league. Fingers crossed for jan!
I really thought we'd spend it in the first week of January, our data driven recruitment is supposed to be top notch, so why are we now chucking names around and vying with Wigan over a player who came to SOL over a week ago, surely we had our list of targets and we'd already sounded them out. A couple of good signings on board 2weeks ago could maybe have got us through the last 3 games with a few more precious points. Or do we continue to do it the Sunderland way, on the eleventh hour of deadline day?
We dont need to spend millions mate, that will come later. We need to outspend the teams in this league and bring the best available players in to move us to the next level. With our budget and turnover we should have only been in this league for 1 year, but unfortunately we are becoming part of the furniture
True mate, and then I realised about 10+ years ago, the club and the players were taking the piss out of me and fellow fans and decided not to go back again, if this lad shows he’s determined as he says he is I will be back again.
No because a 10m rated player would never play for Troyes. However i remember him and Celtic and i also remember what my Boro supporting mates used to say about him so i reckon bringing him in now would be the equivalent of when we brought Jordan Jones in at the same time last year but only at a much higher level.
Man city literally bought him for £11m so he's more than a "£10m rated player" he's an actual £10m+ player
They bought him at that price for potential value vs sell on fee which never worked, a totally inflated price and why footballs totally ruined now. The same reason as Villa want Neil for peanuts compared to his potential worth. Its nice to see City have fecked up on that deal because smaller clubs have no chance now in developing players and getting some worth from them before the big fish come and snatch them away to make a profit
Dont worry about it mate, i read my post back and neither do i tbf . Been on the beer all day and feeling passionate and disappointed. We all vent in different ways mate, i live in a town full of Boro fans so this is my way of doing it because personally i do not know a single Safc fan at work or home. Sometimes its best just ignoring me.
I read it as a shot at the unfairness of the current loan system which in its current form is used to maintain the status quo. Apologies if I got it all wrong. PS We are so close to making it work for us this season, that I think we need to back the current owners and give them some credit for what they have achieved so far.
I know exactly how you feel tees, I live in Huddersfield and there aren't many sunderland supporters around here!!
