There was fighting in the Rotherham end and, so I've been told, trouble outside after the Plymouth game at Sheff Wed ...

... both teams were recently 'nailed on' to go up.

Whatever happens I'm totally Behind Johnson, Flanagan the groundsman and the whole club.

I was fuming as I trudged out yesterday but only sticking together is worthwhile, infighting only destroys.

Haway the Lads!!!

Basic errors from players and management will always cause rage. LJ hasn't and won't learn from them. Very arrogant man.

Our next 5 games are all winnable, so my glass is still half full.
Every game is winnable in this league. As has been said before, there are no “stand out” sides.

I’m fully behind the club, manager etc. he makes mistakes undoubtedly. But he’s managing a 3rd division club. If he got everything right all the time he wouldn’t be managing us.

We’re all better managers on here. Every fan seemingly knows how to do the job better. When to make subs. Etc etc. in reality, it’s a tough job. We could do with reinforcements. I wonder how those around us would do if all of their full backs were injured at the same time. Everyone gets injuries. I get that. But having 4 full backs injured simultaneously would hit anyone hard. And we’re still in a very good position.

What were we thinking having that many up for a corner. Just watched it again on Quest. It's car crash defending a lead like that!!!!!
There was a load tgat was wrong.

Number of people attacking when we’re winning and don’t need to push.

The shot from Dan Neil was poor (or cross. It was worse if it was a cross!!)

The keeper ran past 2 of our players. Just step in front and take a foul.

The miss by Flanagan. Easy with hindsight but he took the ball at half volley. Really tough ball to control but he should’ve got something on it.

There’s not a lot left to say really that hasn’t already been said. Disappointing performance but should have had the 3 points. Agree with most of what has been said about to many forward at the corner and a cheap shot / pass from Dan neil when possession was more important. No one getting in front of the keeper to stop him kicking it out. Johnson said after the game about individual and team errors leading to the goal but I didn’t see any of the management team shouting at Flanagan and Doyle and other defenders not to go forward and just stay at the half way line. It’s a terrible bit of game management from everyone including the bench that cost us the points. It wasn’t a great performance but it wasn’t easy against a big physical team but those 3 points were and should of been taken with a little bit of thought and game management. It’s gone we move on. Keep the faith lads and lasses. By it was foggy on the way home.

Watched Man City v Chelsea and with minutes to go Pep was on the touch line screaming for players to stay back and to keep the ball in the corner when they were taking a corner , they are probably the best team in the world at the minute and his animation to hold on to 1-0 said everything about how important good game management is .

Honest question Nig, why do you think they will be promoted? I’m sure it’s only because you are a Sunderland fan, if that was any other team you wouldn’t give them a hope, there’s loads on here really optimistic but I’ve followed these for 60 + years and I can’t see anything to be optimistic about.

I think at least one of Wigan or Rotherham will have a bad run.
More likely Rotherham.
They lost again yesterday and against Accrington on boxing day.
We've shown we can play good football and get results.
A lot of injuries have knocked us a bit but we are still in the hunt.
Hopefully we get another good run going towards the end.
His (Johnson) streaky tag is worrying.

I'm less optimistic than earlier in the season but I just feel it's our time now, oh and blind rose tinted hope ;) <laugh>

And I didn't realise you were an old fart mate :emoticon-0148-yes: :D :p

The return of ONien, Broadhead, Mcgeady and Huggins could come at a perfect time for us to give us a huge boost going into the playoffs. All 4 of them are potentially good enough for the league above us. What we really need right now is a statement signing from Dreyfus, someone that costs over 1m. Im really starting to show concern in how much money he actually has and how much he is willing to invest.
As ive previously said on here, all our big key signings have been freebies or loans. He's barely spent a penny for a man thats supposedly a Billionaire??

Yeah me too mate, just not as old :D
I’m 68 mate, my dad took me to Roker from when I was 4. Times have changed though mate. I remember writing to Ken Knighton when we were in the fa cup and he invited me and my 2 mates to join the team before at half time and full time, we were just sat in the dressing room with the players, always remember the size of Joe’s legs, bloody massive. Not a chance of that these days.
