Many people here seeming to be turning on their brothers. I don’t approve. Mod me up and I’ll sort it out with my dispute resolution skills.
in the meantime, I don’t agree with you on the ‘blaming previous regime’ point GG.
Howe has one excellent signing for January and one which stinks of a misguided panic buy - other than that he has exactly the same squad which was assembled by the last regime and which was clearly taking us down long before Bruce got the push.
with this squad comes
- a losers mentality (because they KNOW they are not individually good enough for the Prem),
- a lack of skill,
- a lack of football intelligence,
- a lack of footballing instinct,
- a lack of tactical awareness when on the pitch,
- a tendency to panic and freeze,
- an in-built awareness that they are relegation fodder
- a (possible) resistance to the disruption of better players
- a (possible) lack of any desire to avoid the drop (gets one over on the club before their inevitable departure from the wage bill - the players are humans, and therefore can’t be trusted)
I can’t judge Howe against this. backdrop.
he can improve their fitness (and has done) but that just makes a slightly faster **** player - they seem resistant to any other improvement.
we’ve got 2 players that are worthy of a place. Unless Howe can wave a magic wand and get 9-11 immediate upgrades (by a factor of 3, not 1) then I can’t hold him responsible and I DO think responsibility for this “long road to ****dom” does lay squarely at the feet of the previous decade and a half regime.
we’re down. we’ll be back.
