Magennis has agreed terms with Wigan and underwent a medical today. Good luck to him. I don't think he's cut out to be a Championship striker, but he has become so instrumental to that dressing room and his experience has helped the youngsters no end. Smith and Eaves will have to step it up now.
It's a bit of an odd one, letting him go prior to replacing him, but I assume we must be confident that we can get some one before the deadline. Maybe his hamstring would have kept him out longer than expected i.e. up to the end of January. Leaves us a little on the light side right now though.
A level of confidence must exist within the club that he will be replaced by someone considered to be a better option. Josh certainly a grafter who more often than not has been isolated by Terry's tactics, goes with my best wishes
Anyone know details of any add ons with the transfer ? Or if it will disappear directly into the arse pocket of Ehab ? Be nice if the new man imminent gets a little bit back on his investment, although I doubt it.
If you think Eaves and Smith can keep us up your wrong. I don’t care how good there where the other night.
TS this morning discussing Bowen at length... saying if Southgate was true to his policies of picking people in form, Bowen would be in front of Grealish et al and he's getting better. Simon Jordan was saying how many gems there are to unearth in the EFL and championship and Premier League snobbery by owners is getting in the way of quality..
He wouldn't get in front of Grealish, but he surely is a better pick at the moment than Rashford or Sancho.
MOTM the match against Norwich by a Country mile according to Sky. Lots of praise on the West Ham forum and some saying a superlative performance. Also a few posters getting concerned about the Liverpool transfer speculation. Which is potentially good news for City if he is actually transfered.
Why not? Grealish continues to flatter to deceive. He just isn't having the impact, for club or country, that a player with his talent should be having.
From what I can see the next England game isn’t until June, so lots can happen in that time. If Bowen stays free of injury and keeps up his performances, I think Southgate will select him. Not just for performances, but the level of professionalism and the example he sets to others. Bowen has a James Milner level of groundedness that Southgate really admires. He’s improving more than any other player you can name at the moment, just needs to maintain what he’s doing and he could be at the World Cup - I may even have to back down from my boycott of that wretched Qatar tournament, just like I did with the Russia one once we started looking decent...
Mightily impressive young man, be amazed if he isn't included in the next England squad as a reward for his recent performances
