So why does he have boots on his feet and around his neck?

Especially since he doesn't look dressed to play football in the first place. Seems a bit excessive.
 
£20m for Chris Wood. Newcastle got more money than sense. I guess it weakens Burnley unless they use it to go and actually buy a decent striker

It's also difficult availability. Who wants to join Newcastle? Potential relegation and even years off any type of competing. All the while in the limited January transfer window, they probably couldn't do any better.

Not sure what Burnley are doing though.

Was his release clause so they had no say.

Maybe they plan to use him to get more out of ASM and Wilson? Target man that can help play them in?

Agree it's ridiculous, could have got Origi for that <whistle>

Given their injury records, that's unlikely to be the case for too many more games this season.

At least he would probably stay around if they get relegated.

I was thinking of their injuries; get Wood to do their donkey work and let Wilson / AMS to concentrate on attacking
 
Chris wood and Phil Jones. Interesting recruitment going on at the toon. Suddenly got load of money and given it to a guy that doesn’t know how to recruit properly.
