HD Audio and AC97 are for front panel audio connectors. The BIOS speaker goes in the same area as the power/reset/hdd light/etc ('front panel' area on this). It might be the case that BIOS speakers come with, and yours might not have one.

The red light next to the RAM should go off after a few seconds. Few things i can suggest:

    1. Take out the ram and try again.
    2. Make sure they are pressed in correctly the bottom of the slot does not have a clip so when you push down at the top it sometimes pop the bottom out a little.
    3. The manual says it is reccomended to use the 2nd and 4th slot first (The two blue ones)
    4. If all else fails try and boot with only one of your sticks in, if that fails try the other. (You can also try them in other slots seperately).
This is to try and eliminate if there is a faulty RAM stick or a faulty motherboard.

Oh and there is also a button near the RAM press that when you first boot up and it should auto load th ebest settings for the RAM.

Your case should have a mini speaker on it which should give you your post beeps, if your mobo is new it should come with diagrams/manual of where/how to connect all those fiddly wires inside the case. Get them right and u should hear post beeps:) Also, if you get them wrong the 'fsw' aka front switch, will not power up ure computer! Simples.

right after some continous reinserting RAM, i got the LED to stop, got some writing on my monitor saying "Reboot and insert proper boot device or insert boot media in a boot device and press any key". Isnt it meant to auto read?

And btw my gfx card isnt inserted yet I removed it last night should i insert it now?

    Case has no post speakers.

Yes, put your card in. Remember to plug the monitor into the card instead of the motherboard.

As for the Insert proper boot device.

You probably need to set the boot order. Go into the BIOS by pressing DELETE key when you first turn the PC on. Then you need to change the order of the boot device at the bottom so your DVD drive is first. Then just reboot and it should load from the disk.

I was in the bio but before that i had a screen saying hard drive not detected. But in bios it shows the name of both my DVD drive and hard drive. After that a black screen with white text saying DVD found in dvd drive etc will start in 5 secs unless key pressed. but then it just says "Reboot and insert proper boot device or insert boot media in a boot device and press any key" again. do i enable hot plug for my Hard and DVD drives.

EDIT: In my bios my HD is set to AHC1 mode by default.

No you don't need to enable hot plug. Sounds like its not picking your hard disk up make sure the connections are fine (Sata & Power) also make sure you use one of the standard cables if its not SATA 6Gb/s i believe the 6GB/s cables are black and white while the normal ones are just black. You wont be able to install windows without a Hard drive being picked up, thats probably why its saying Reboot and insert proper boot device.

Think you mean AHCI, normally it will be fine leaving it as it is but you can always try setting it to IDE to see if it will pick it up

Yes they should work fine, however if you buy a new one in the future make sure its 6gb/s they have way better Read/Write speeds.

WHen you get on the desktop you will need to install the drivers using the Disk you get with the motherboard. Then i would advise you to go to the NVIDIA website and download the latest graphic card drivers from there.

Thanks a lot by the way mate, and the others who chipped in. I was absolutely gutted when I couldn't get it to work thought I must of broke something and wasted all my money, guess it was just a RAM issue. Time to finish installs then move it to my room and out of kitchen. I'm one chuffed lad now haha :D.

Thanks will update again when its done :).

Got FM12 waiting to :D, and the new batman game for free. Bought the one before for a fiver last week so will need to do that. So many games to do xD.

Chrome or FF? Used chrome last liked that it was fast. But shouldnt have issues with FF memory hogging now.

Yes chrome is faster, but FF has way better Add-Ons. Used both and prefer Firefox simpy because of that.

Also take a look at STEAM http://store.steampowered.com/ if you don't have it already. Best online game distrubution and developer.
