VAR should never have got involved nor the ref be called over. They are just looking for reasons now, not to give a goal. What's even funnier, most of the cup games have not involved VAR, and teams happily played without it, even when with VAR opposite decisions would have been given. If VAR had not been involved in this game, then the goal would have stood, in the same way it did in many non VAR games in the same competition over the weekend.
