I thought we had advertised a position on about £20k per annum. Maybe that's why we haven't got one?
Yes I saw that and well not up with the salaries in the UK but $28k or thereabouts miniimum wage levesl here. Not going to buy you much data analysis.
Hardly likely to get you a PHD out of Stanford or MIT. Or in the UK Oxbrdige. In Silicon Valley they are paying a million dollars a year for AI knowledge.
I know what I would do.

Also did not see that in the job descripton look to me must analysis of opponents etc.not transfer targets-though could be wrong..

Bloom and his partner at Brigton are in that business so I am presuming they have set the system up themselves and have organized tthat part of the club with the necesssary support staff. How direclty they are involved I have no idea.

Again they are punching above their weight Brighton that is. And I am pretty sure that Potter is not pulling the strings on incomings buying everyoen he knows.

As an addendumn to my previous post. As opposed to spending money on transfer fees a club like City with al limited budget would perhaps be better off spending money on a decent ananlyst that used data driven methods to unearth potential gems. Maybe they already have one (he may not be very good thats all)
Don't you think they already do that and how can you say he's not very good ? Docherty, Macloughlin, Longman, Tyler Smith..........

Absolutey I dont know. But it would be nice to know. Maybe Urika you can tell me how we select our Targets. I genuinely would like to know. But gotta say a fair few of our signings come from the " I have worked with that player before school". And given the rumors the new potential owner and team are potenttally in the same mold.
Thanks for your reply

We're supposed to be after Fenerbarche's right back Tisserand now. On twitter they're taking the piss out of Acun about how many of their players we're linked with. <laugh>

I always think Lee Darnbrough gets a bad rap, he's brought in some decent players on a shoestring budget. I wonder what he could do with more cash.

I think he's also less unilaterally responsible for transfers than people make out. We have a Chief Scout who plays a big part too and completely goes under the radar, no one ever talks about him. He appeared on a podcast a while ago and talked a bit about the process City use for transfers. I found it really interesting.

Usual city negativity that’s all

I think people just get over excited about analytics. Seems to be the cool thing lately. Just do analytics and you can be the next Brentford/Brighton. Those Americans wanted to buy Bradford and take them up the league using analytics, except they had no idea how to buy a club and got laughed out of town.
