I honestly don't see a problem with the stadium. Bit of bird **** here and there, but the stadium was empty for 12 months giving the bods plenty of time to nest and so on. It's bird ****, could be a lot worse. You should see what they find in the programme sellers kiosks from time to time. Some of the girder work could do with a lick of paint and there is a bit of dust and stuff collected in some hard to reach corners but the rest of it seems fine to me. The access and the exits are still decent, every seat has a clear view of the pitch, and the pitch itself is looking in better shape then it ever has. The toilets are decent and on par with any other ground I visit and our concourse facilities are better then most. At least the don't resemble a prison exercise yard like some grounds. The food is decent too and has improved 100%. The service at half time is a sore point but that is down to demand surely ? So for me the MKM gives me everything I expect from a football ground in the 21st century, which is more then I can say for some grounds I've visited. Elland Road for one.

It is still a great stadium I would agree and every seat has a clear view. Unfortunately it has not been well maintained. I don't think it is fair to expect fans to have to deal with the amount of bird poo that existed for such a long time. Also whilst some of the toilets may be OK some are certainly well below the standards normally expected and as TOM said earlier the SMC has long been aware of the issues. I know some issues date back to when the stadium was built. I understand some of the plumbing was not completed correctly and the painting of the breeze block walls (which was meant to smarten the area and facilitate easier cleaning) never happened. It still hasn't happened. I am old enough to recall appalling standards of cleanliness at BP and countless away grounds but most clubs now have decent facilities whilst sadly the MKM stadium sometimes falls short.

Done some research on him today and I have to say it hasn’t been pretty reading. Nothing too impressive to note but each club he’s been at has had problems at some point too so maybe not fair to judge him without knowing the full facts.

He was at Scunthorpe, a club operating with a tiny budget in League One. During his tenure, they avoided relegation to League Two, finished 3rd and 5th before they started declining (which IIRC was when Swann stopped putting his money in). Not sure how any of that was his fault.

He joined Notts County *after* their winding up order had been issued, despite this he was there when they were promoted to League One and left shortly after they went down to League Two.

He might be a massive bellend, he did play for Boston United and their fans are ****ing idiots, but he'll be judged on what he does at City and no more.

Scunny weren't operating on a tiny budget when he was there, Swann has racked up eleven million quids worth of debt and transferred the ownership of their stadium, and valuable surrounding land, to another of his companies. Oh and Rodwell had to make do with a paltry 200k annual wage in his time there. :emoticon-0100-smile

Yes, but they didn't rack up £11m worth of debt in League One, they barely had any decent players in that period. I don't know how much sway Rodwell had over Swann, but I'd guess it was an amount less than 1.

The thirteen managers he's employed don't! The lack of decent players could be down to his transfer committee guff, oh and perhaps his chief scout who just happens to be his son, who when he was at the ripe age of 23 had weeks of football experience. :emoticon-0100-smile
If it’s worth saying, say it twice I always say !!
If it’s worth saying, say it twice….

Speaking of the stadium's deterioration, what happened to that purple light that used to run around the top of the East stand on night games? Always thought that was a nice touch, and unique to our stadium. Can't remember when it was last on but probably several years ago.

The stadium cleaning is discussed by the Supporters Committee quite regularly.
Last notes I have are from August 2020 and relate to covid measure.
But the SMC and the club are more than aware of the issues.
It’s the little things like the bare cinder blocks on the concourse, would cost a few thousand to plaster and paint. Would make it look brand new!
