The Super Cup went through THE SAME REBRAND as the European Cup.
The Super Cup can arguably be seen as a new competition as the Cup Winners Cup no longer exists therefore it has no winners to participate in the non major competition of the Super Cup

The European Cup was purely a knock out Cup competition.
It is now a completely different competition that starts with a League format.
The European Cup now no longer exists otherwise it would still be called the European Cup. It isn't and it's not.
