Nothing screams innocent like your lawyer wriggling for every obscure technicality in the book!

Sounded like the judge was having none of it.Nothing screams innocent like your lawyer wriggling for every obscure technicality in the book!
Clough in the end was a bitter old drunk, and talked a lot of ****e.While talking of Maxwell, this is worth a listen until the end...

I assume he's got very expensive lawyers, as they're just chucking in anything they can think of.Nothing screams innocent like your lawyer wriggling for every obscure technicality in the book!
does that come out of our taxes?I assume he's got very expensive lawyers, as they're just chucking in anything they can think of.
Quite happy to drag this out and put up as many hours as possible.
Not directly. The Queen's supposedly paying for it though, so...does that come out of our taxes?

Yeh shot down pretty much everything Andy lawyers presented.Loving this judge atm
That weren't all...
Andy's Lawyers: "We do not know the details of these allegations and it's time that we do before Prince Andrew is forced to answer these very serious allegations."
Judge Lewis Kaplan said: "With all due respect, Mr Brettler, that's not a dog that's got a hunt here" and that Ms Giuffre had no obligation to do so in a complaint. The judge said he understood Mr Brettler's point but "it just isn't the law".
When the duke's lawyer said "we don't know" what the alleged conduct is, Judge Kaplan replied: "Involuntary sexual intercourse. There's no doubt what that means."![]()

Good stuff
It makes me think the people in these positions are so far removed from reality they just think all that matters is getting away with it.They don't have to accept anything, unfortunately. At the end of all this though, I hope he doesn't throw it out.
I can't get my head around the catch 22 here. She's suing him because he's taken part in Epstein's sexual misconduct. The defnece are arguing the NDA with Epstein protects all co-conspirators. So in order to use that defence they're accepting her allegations because they'd need to accept he did what she said to be protected by the NDA.
AND even if the case is thrown out based on that, then the whole world knows he accepts he was involved because he used the NDA to get the case thrown outIt makes me think the people in these positions are so far removed from reality they just think all that matters is getting away with it.
They don't have to accept anything, unfortunately.
Her accusation is that he was involved, so if that's true then her NDA would kick-in.
If he's not involved then her case also fails.
I don't think he cares any more, after that stupid interview. Everyone thinks he's guilty anyway.True, the door swings both ways.
I just think he comes away looking even more guilty than before if it's thrown out on that basis.

I have to admit, I'm not convinced that he's guilty in this case.I agree!

He definitely shagged her, but I doubt he knew she was being trafficked.
I've got no idea how they'd prove that he did know, even if that was the case.
His whole behaviour from start to finish has been utterly stupid.
In desperate need of a good slap.
I don't know if he is legally guilty, but he definitely feels guilty and acts it. I think in this case then, ignoring moral rights and wrongs, from a legal point of view the only issue is whether he forced her to have sex or knew others had forced her to. If neither of the above is true then he will probably be innocent from a legal point of view as she was above the age of consent. His ridiculous interview and all of this squirming definitely indicates he has something he wants to hide though. That may or may not be connected to illegal activity.
The stupid thing is, as much as everyone would have hated it, if he had done the traditional royal thing of refusing to comment then he wouldn't have dug himself such a deep hole. The fact he didn't when that is their normal tactic speaks volumes in terms of him having things he doesn't want people to believe.
