I didn't think the accusations were only in London! Actually I'll edit that, was a location ever named.
Ahh. You may be right. I didn't realise it was more than one time directly related to this case. I haven't followed it all that closely but thought it related to her being brought to London and him having sex with her in Ghislaine Maxwell's London flat. I know that was the time the interview addressed as they raised the fact that him being in Woking for a kids birthday party wasn't an alibi for a late night meeting the same day in a London club.
Yeah, I thought there was an accusation in the states, can't remember if it was New York or Florida, I think they both have different age limits.
Just googled that question and this came up... When did Prince Andrew sleep with Virginia Giuffre? Giuffre (then known by her maiden name Virginia Roberts) asserted that she had sex with Andrew on three occasions, including a trip to London in 2001 when she was 17, and later in New York and on Little Saint James, U.S. Virgin Islands. She alleged Epstein paid her $15,000 to have sex with the Duke in London.
He'll need to stick to Pizza Express for any future kids' birthday parties then as I suspect Disneyworld is off the menu now then!!
I'll wait for others to comment whether any of that was illegal as there is no way I am googling age of consent on a work computer!!
Tell you what got me about all this, I'm sure I saw on the news several days ago, I wasn't paying much attention at the time, but it was reported they bulldozed one of Epsteins properties - that alone, raises my suspicion, why would you do that? It's part of the evidence, unless someone, somewhere in all this is trying to destroy the evidence.
She claims to have had sex with Andy in 3 places. London, NY and Epstein Island. All 3 places are either 16 or 17. She's already stated she wasn't underage in any of her encounters with him.
Just google it ffs, age of consent in the US, perfectly legit thing to do, it will give you it state by state, and any other conditions in each state.
She claims that Epstein paid her to sleep with Andrew. That makes sense, but it also follows that Epstein wouldn't want him to know that. Can't blackmail someone before they've done anything illegal. She would've been underage in one place because of the sex-trafficking, IIRC. There were three. London, New York and Esptein's island, I think.
She might not have been underage, but he may have been overage, because in America there is an upper age limit as well, that covers gap in age between the two sexual partners.
Yeah not sure if it applies in this case, but if she was 17 and let's say (I don't know) he was 26, he would have been too old in some states to legally have sex with her.
Yeah, I think they are called Romeo and Juliet laws which have been brought in for some places to prevent adolescents and youths from being criminilised for non predatory behaviour and differentiate those instances from people taking advantage and exploiting young boys and girls. No idea if they apply in those two states though.
Age of consent state by state, also note close in exemption laws... https://www.ageofconsent.net/states
What is the Florida Age of Consent? The Florida Age of Consent is 18 years old. In the United States, the age of consent is the minimum age at which an individual is considered legally old enough to consent to participation in sexual activity. Individuals aged 17 or younger in Florida are not legally able to consent to sexual activity, and such activity may result in prosecution for statutory rape. Florida statutory rape law is violated when a person has consensual sexual intercourse with an individual under Age 18. Close in age exemptions exist, allowing minors aged 16 or 17 to engage in sexual intercourse with a partner no older than age 23. What is the New York Age of Consent? The New York Age of Consent is 17 years old. In the United States, the age of consent is the minimum age at which an individual is considered legally old enough to consent to participation in sexual activity. Individuals aged 16 or younger in New York are not legally able to consent to sexual activity, and such activity may result in prosecution for statutory rape. New York statutory rape law is violated when a person has consensual sexual intercourse with an individual under age under age 17, who they are not married to. Punishment varies depending on the age of the offender. There is no defense based around lack of knowledge of the victim's age.
