... for anyone who fancies a change, could be a good way to isolate for a couple of years.

I went back 10 pages, looking for a suitable thread for this and found nowt.

We're always being sent jobs, from employment agencies, and have just had this one.

If we were 20 years younger we'd apply, even if just to be flown over for an interview, but the grandkids wouldn't be happy, they call me Grandad Faraway as it is <laugh>

Probably not of interest to anyone but who knows.

    "Dear ******* & *****

    Happy New Year

Please may you have a look at the new vacancy attached and advise me asap if you interested in any with a yes or a no etc!

    Live in Couple, Bahamas

We currently recruiting for a Handyman & Housekeeper/ Couple to work for our Private Client based in the Bahamas.

The position is live in and full time.

The property is located on a very quiet island in the Bahamas and the Principals are in residence usually 2-3 months per year.

The family consist of 3 members. Mr & Mrs and a 3year old son.

The property will be managed between the Clients Personal Assistant remotely from the UK alongside an Agent the client employs back in the Bahamas.

    Requirements:

Because of the remote location the clients require someone 'handy', who will be able to maintain the equipment to a degree. There is a large generator, AC equipment etc. So not necessarily an engineer but someone who can keep the equipment running, perhaps troubleshot if something fails, good with technology. This is one of the main worries for the owner so having someone who can fix a leaky pipe, change a lightbulb, fix a fuse switch, wash the salt off the decking etc would be great. Someone who could manage security on the property is needed. Most of the time this just means checking the grounds a boarders regularly and ensuring no one wanders in off the beach.

A housekeeper is required for the inside of the property who will do all the general housekeeping, laundry & ironing when the owners are in residence, and general house maintenance when the property is empty.

Duties that can be shared by both would include pool cleaning, gardening & landscape planting, painting walls and deck area, provisioning, cooking (bonus, not essential), general cleaning and maintenance.

A Separate accommodation will be provided, cottage on site.

    Work permits included

    Annual flight home included

Contributions towards a food/ uniform allowance

Salary DOE but somewhere between 1300-1500 USD per person

I applied for a job as a handyman.

The fella asked how good I was at joinery, plumbing, electrics, gardening, painting and decorating.

I said I was useless at everything.

"So what makes you handy ffs?"

"Well I only live round the corner" <doh>
