Attitudes like yours are the reason people will live in fear for months, maybe years to come. They are genuinely worried, based on strong scientific evidence, about a disease that might kill them (delta is still out there, the next mutation after omicron may already be in the community) yet people like you latch onto one situation (on which the science is not yet clear anyway) and decide that a few tiny rules and courtesies are too much effort for you and can be ditched. You were willing to go along with restrictions when you weren’t vaccinated. Now you’ve had your vaccine, you are happy to think ‘I’m ok, **** the rest of you’ - you are a selfish **** and most right-minded people would implore you to stay away from them, at football and in all walks of life.
With three of us in our household all having COVID, I am not sure how not testing on match days will help at all.. Each one of us had the new symptoms (ie cold like), so all had several daily negative LTF’s before testing positive. Apparently this is a feature of Omnicron, as it takes a while to reach the nostrils. If they aren’t testing on match days, there will be a lot playing who don’t know they have the virus. I predict this will go through squads and across to other squads very quickly. I guess the good news is this variant appears to be milder, but I can imagine the EFL programme getting wiped out very quickly.
So this new rule would have meant that the Blackburn game would have gone ahead, and that there would have been some City players infectious with Covid playing? Am I misunderstanding the new rule?
All the numbers are from the UK HSA or the NHS Hospital Trusts. If you want to go into more detail there's a long youtube vid here reviewing all the numbers
Sorry, but what you've just posted is complete garbage. Nobody is downplaying covid and the stuff I posted was stats all from credible sources. Why do you think no more restrictions have been taken for the Xmas/New Year period? Because the data shows we don't need them and the data they get is far more accurate than the stuff we get released. At some point, the fear-mongering has to stop and we're going to have to get back to normal. Here's a fact you probably won't like either. Since omicron emerged in this country there's been substantially more deaths from male suicide (70% between ages 25-44) than there has from omicron.
But you can’t even be bothered to stick to the current restrictions, which are essentially just politeness. Shame on you. And as for your last line, that is the last call of the idiot that has been exposed. “If not now then when” is the cry of the fool, just ****ing well wait until the time is right. “Nobody is downplaying covid”. Says person that’s spent three weeks calling it a common cold. Unbelievable. People are still scared. You don’t hear them in your echo chamber, but they are out there. And increasingly, they are scared of people that think like you. Think about that when quoting suicide stats.
In general, the situation is much better. Deaths down and stays in hospital shorter. Also figures higher in London where many unvaccinated.
