Big Chris Ban

I have just banned Big Chris from this forum for good and want to explain why, don’t have to but think it’s fair.

You will know that he was banned for 3 days, came back today and within a few hours either caused or was the cause of the type of comments that were chasing posters away. I have tried all ways to calm him but all without success.

To cap it all I found, during his ban, that 6 user names came from his IP address, I’m no expert but was told by experts that only two ways this could happen, one server with 6 user accounts by the same person or 6 people sharing a server.

I pm’d Chris for his explanation and was told sitting on my lap top at home. Replied that in that case people must be using his IP address, told I should grow up and should be ashamed of myself. Two other users on that address confirmed, by PM that they worked for the same company and how the other users could, including Chris. All asked for the company not to be named because it could cause them trouble, it won’t be. If Chris had responded like this we would not have had a problem.

I simply don’t trust Chris to keep things quiet. One user has deleted his account today to ensure he does not get into trouble. Within a few hours I have had more trouble through or because of Chris than all the other 5,600 members put together.

I decided, rightly or wrongly, it’s not worth the hassle so he is banned.

I feel this was the correct decision....

I am one of the people who, supposedly, share his IP address and work for this company...not bothered about getting in trouble cause i am a maverick!!

I enjoyed the odd bit of banter with Chris, but he was outwardly racist again today which is completely unnacceptable...

The only problem now is...with a shared IP address as this one (we have thousands of people working in this building) and i know three colleagues who use it... he will inevatibly return...but i'm sure we will be able to sniff him out though

Well done Syd. You dont want or need the hassle. Although he didnt bother me I just read and then ignored what he had to say. Clearly though he got up the noses of a lot of people which resulted in a lot of posts turning into slanging matches and ultimately losing their purpose rather than them being a sensible debating topic which is what I thought forums were all about

Syd, you and many others on this board have shown great tolerance towards this fella but he continues to aggravate people, whether purposely or not.

Hopefully he will reflect on his actions and perhaps return with some humility in the future, because he has certainly caused more controvery than everyone else put together.

However, I don't know how this forum will survive without his continuous feed of 'insider' information, so we need a volunteer to step into his place and keep us all amused.

I back syd 100% on this.

I had already warned Chris after recieving complaints about racism, looking through his posts for today barely one relates to football, they are simply put in place to antagonise others.

I'm going to monitor the other users who seem to share his IP address, there's another user not on his ip that i'm 99% is him as well, due to spelling, grammer and punctuation similarities.

Thanks syd. Even in the few hours he was back he was beginning to get me wondering whether it was worth the effort to stay on not606. Maybe he will be back under a different guise but I doubt, as Argus said, if it will be with some humility. I don't think he knows the meaning of the word.

I'll now go off and contact my SAFC source and see what I can find out. To save you all asking, my source is my ability to take total guesses at what is going on and hope I get a few right.

Just to butt in..The other usesers on the same IP address are good posters who all work for the same company and maybe dont even know they are all on. All are OK.
