Don't know our many players have to be available for the game to go ahead but say it's 13 then surely the EfL have to bring some rule out to say once the squad goes down to 16/18 giving a 3/5 man leeway then it's off. This way games would be called off earlier. Take today's game if we are down to 14 fit players at 10am ,appeal to call it off but are refused then between 10 and 1 someone goes down with it?. It's off late. DEL rules

The FA/EFL/Prem should have just had a 10day/2wk freeze over Xmas/new year and we wouldn't be in this ridiculous situation. But as per the almighty ££ goes before player welfare and fans etc

The EFL and PL need to have a look at what they want, clearly nobody wants football to stop for a multitude of reasons but whatever way anyone looks at it games being called off or untested kids being forced into playing brings the game into disrepute. It pushes fixture congestion further down the line but probably is a decision that needs to be made…

Well that's a waste of the lft i've done !
Really should stop testing players who aren't ill it's turning everything into a shambles, how many times are the same players testing positive, how do we know it's not a bog standard cold there all getting tested positive for ?
After all this time in a pandemic, how can you still be so staggeringly ignorant about Covid?

Because a bog standard cold wouldn't show up positive on the test. Everybody gets tested because some people can be asymptomatic. Everybody should be tested to track how far the infection has spread.

Though you must agree, if we stop all testing it should reduce the number of those testing positive.

Blackburn fans will effectively have had a Boxing Day totally wasted with this ridiculously late call. I’d be raging about it.
Plus all the stadium staff, the Sky broadcast folk, the coppers on (presumably) double bubble...

ELF Statement…

Hull City’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Blackburn Rovers scheduled for today has been postponed.

Hull City informed the EFL that it would be unable to fulfil the fixture at the MKM Stadium due to a number of positive COVID-19 cases in their squad.

In light of the increased transmission rate of the Omicron variant, the EFL will now review the circumstances surrounding the postponement. In addition it will assist affected Clubs throughout this challenging period to help them mitigate against the risk of infection amongst players and staff, while ensuring their obligations to the EFL regulations are maintained.

A rearranged date for the fixture will be confirmed in due course.

Because he has been in close contact with several people who have tested positive? Now he is potentially spreading it around a boozer

And? That isn’t a reason for him to isolate!!

He will have tested negative, he free to roam & enjoy himself
