Lewis won that race comprehensively. There’s no 2 ways about it. He blasted Max off the line, opened a gap on slower tyres, Checo did great to slow him down and Max catches up (on fresher tyres), Lewis pulls well clear again. Max gets fresher tyres, pulls a bit back but by the time of the crash he’d stopped gaining, indeed Lewis, on 30-plus lap old tyres, was beating him the odd lap. There’s a reason Lewis has 7, Max will not get 7. Vettel the second. A very quick car. Lewis has won in fast and slower cars. All conditions. Vettel won 4 titles in a rocketship car, he never got close again really. Merc Line up next season is utterly box office. He’s gonna have to beat 2 now. Ferrari will come back and Le Clerc is a sensational talent. Then McLaren Leah’s improving with Lando capable of racing anyone in a better car. Max ain’t gonna have Vettel luxury of a sustained period of a mind blowing car. He just isn’t gonna be a Lewis. Had he won that race fair and square, as a huge fan of the sport, I’d have respected it. The way it was done absolutely wasn’t on Max, but it still massively cheapens the achievement, if we can call it that.
It's a rock and a hard place like. Max seems happy to take the win and the title but I sure as **** wouldn't. Lewis on the other hand would not want to win his 8th title by the final result being over turned. Close the book, move on and smash the **** out of them next season when the slate is wiped clean....we'll see a very different Lewis Hamilton next season when the bar is reset. He's been driving on ****ing eggshells for the last half dozen races just to make sure he stayed in the fight and he still won 3 out of 4....4 out of 4 if you count Abu Dhabi which you should really ! I literally can't wait for next season now, scores to settle, new cars, bigger tyres, Russell in a Merc.....and Miami baby Enjoy it you little ****ing clog botherer cos it won't be such plain sailing next season !!
No fan of Hamilton but if it's true that he has told Mercedes to drop the appeal because he doesn't want his 8th title to be won in court... He deserves a second ****ing knighthood. That's beyond magnanimous.
Losing this one might have put some extra fire in his belly. Might be the best thing that's happened to him in years.
Think he'll blow everyone away, wouldn't be surprised to see him win it with 2 races to go, think George Russell will help him a lot more than bottas did.
Yeah I’ve noticed Lewis still hasn’t posted in his insta about it. I think he’s genuinely considering tossing it in after seeing a whole season set up to favour RB. Personally, I agree with above, he will romp next season Merc admitted early doors this season they were focusing on next years whip.
I still think Mercedes might ( contracts permitting) quit. F1 costs a fortune Mercedes had an old man's car and some reliability issues. Winning F1 with Lewis and the constructors has changed their image...so job done. F1 cars and their engineering advances used to transfer to 'street' cars that is by and large no longer the case. BMW have concentrated on increasing their range in their view money well spent. Mercedes might soon do the same. This latest debacle with the race director willing to invent bend/new rules towards the end of the race better for TV rather that a sporting contest with laws/rules. Makes Mercedes decision easier. Toto Wolfe, who i believe owns a chunk of the F1 team, has only stayed on cos Lewis did. If Lewis quits so might he..
Absolutely nailed - spot on. Reminds me of someone / can’t remember who - that has the same sttitude to rules and regulations being for ‘others’.
So, what do multi millionaires complain about when they have very little to complain about in the sport? https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...y-to-miss-f1-miami-gp-over-jewellery-standoff Prat.
Incredible British Grand Prix today. It had everything. Horrendous crash and the last 10 laps where some of the best F1 I've seen. Like I said....Incredible. The crash on the first corner of the first lap was scary. Without the 'halo' device we potentially looking at a fatality. Worth a watch.
I'm glad Mick Schumacher got his first points of his F1 career, happy Sainz won as well. Agreed on the 'Halo', potentially could have been worse.
