Awww, you say the sweetest things. Just you and the Tenko Camp Commandant then? Who's driving? Put it another way, home by 8.30 or 11.30?
Here we go again for the weekend. Once again I'll merge threads if anyone else comes up with something.
@Barry Tiger - I've merged your thread with this matchday one. As all forum posts follows the time line, your thread and posts predate this one so your opening comments will appear at the top.
Let's hope that we come out of the blocks flying today. We need to be on the front foot from the off so that we can set up a foundation for the rest of the game. Don't let the Brummies dictate and make them reactive to what we do rather than us having to fight our way back into a game again. I'm not sure though that our midfield have the guile and grit to dictate a game. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong. If we don't have the fight then we have to have the speed of foot or the speed of vision/pass. Again I'm not sure that our lads posses too much of the latter. Morison may need to continue filtering in the youngsters so that we can mix up the qualities a little. I dare say that Colwill, Davies, Bowen, etc, etc will breathe life into a team that is trying to break free of the passed regimes' long back tactics. We, as fans, need to be patient and wait for the end product to develop. I'm sure the backroom's messages will be absorbed in time but it won't be overnight. Hopefully it will be soon enough to prise us away from the relegation fight but if not then we'll come again. There's a lot of season left ahead of us.
I'll upset sparkey here, but mid table mediocrity will be a result this season. That and developing a playing style more suited to the modern era whilst blooding a raft of youngsters. Just hope when we get to the summer the board don't then throw the baby out with the bath water. Still need a couple old heads down the spine of the side to nurse the youngsters through what is always a gruelling season. Hope we can make one or two signings in January to help us on our way. A water carrier in the midfield and maybe a bit of pace out wide. Then its about building for next season. Hope there is a steady hand on the tiller developing the next crop of youngsters. Still need that DoF role to create a club structure top to bottom.
Rules me out, I can't stand whiskey. I'm feeling positive about the rest of the season, hence my prediction in the relevant thread. Just feel consistency will be an issue when games come thick and fast. Saying that, funnier things have happened.
That's the correct call. Start with Moore/ Collins to soften them up, and keep Davies and Harris to come on for the last 20/30 minutes to run at a tired Brum defence.
Yes I can see that but conversely let Davies in particular run at them, tire them out and if necessary bring Collins on in last 20/30 to bully them.
Yes, a different approach to the same problem. I just think the Brum defenders would be fresh enough to get at Davies and Harris first half, but they'd be knackered with half an hour to go through dealing with Moore and Collins for an hour. You pays your money and takes your choice.
The only time I’ve (and probably everyone else) been impressed with him was his 2nd half performance at Deepdale. Each time he’s started he runs around a lot but largely he’s been anonymous. Let’s see how he goes today.
