Media Fact Check - Overall, we rate The Desert Review Right-Center Biased and Questionable based on the frequent promotion of pseudoscience, conspiracy theories, and misinformation regarding covid-19.

Except when you said there was "hours of research" there. Is it the kind of research done in an academic library, whereby there's cross checking of sources, comparisons of like for like research done over the years and peer reviewed findings? Or is it the kind where somebody sits and trawls through youtube videos, dark corners of the web, twitter feeds and abstract "doctors" who go against consensus to agree with an echo chambered viewpoint that backs up a decision that's been doubled down on?

Well, there have been several studies done on Ivermectin, the main one being in Canada and all have shown that the drug has zero impact on curing/treating Covid.

It's a drug used to treat parasites, it would be akin to taking paracetamol as a cure for cancer.

I'm naturally dismissive of anybody who goes against scientific consensus. Flat Earth, homeopathy, mediums, people who think vaccines are a waste of time, people who claim 5G is some sort of electric boogalo. I don't consider their viewpoints valuable enough to be taken seriously as they've gone out of their way to make themselves stupider.

Stick me on ignore if you want, I'll let you know when I've found a **** to give.

The vaccines’ development were all above board & all research was fulfilled & reported to strict regulatory standards. The MHRA would not have ok’d their use if it hadn’t been.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll repeat. If you truly believe the science to be tainted then you are questioning the integrity of 1000s of shop floor Scientists from many different organisations from many different countries. Some conspiracy.

I don’t give a single **** what most think but please be consistent to your principles & also refuse the many other different treatments, drugs & therapies that that these Scientists have developed.

The conspiracy theorists who believe the vaccines weren’t researched properly are laughable. Their contempt towards the scientists & organisations who developed them is ignorant. Their hypocrisy each time the chuck a pill down their throat to aid another ailment shows them to be quite unprincipled.

Do you reckon these same people would trek through the Amazon Rainforest without a Hep A, Thyphoid or Malaria shot? Their immune systems would just sort it out wouldn't it?

Is it because the government made out it was the miracle cure mate? And it would be eradicated thats making me query it
I had already had it so should I still have a jab? Would it serve any purpose for me to have a jab?
Do you agree with children having a jab??

"Distaval can be given with complete safety to pregnant women and nursing mothers without adverse effect on mother or child ... Outstandingly safe Distaval has been prescribed for nearly three years in this country."

Distaval was the UK brand name of thalidomide. Pharmaceutical companies all over the world marketed thalidomide as a safe treatment for morning sickness. Hard to believe, I know, but sometimes the experts can be wrong too. Feel free to mock conspiracy theorists for getting their ‘information’ from Facebook and the like. I find flat earthers, climate change deniers and anti-vaxxers ridiculous as well, but a blind faith in the opinions of experts can be equally as daft. The consensus amongst medical and pharmaceutical experts in the late 50s was that thalidomide was a safe and effective treatment for morning sickness; the consensus changed in the 60s when birth defects were linked to its use.

    Just a thought to consider.

You think you’re important enough for me to put you on ignore? <laugh> If I was going to do that I’d have done it years ago, when I initially saw you as a supercilious ****, I generally just skip your posts, so carry being said supercilious **** for as long as you like <ok>

Literally right from the start they were saying the efficacy was only as high as 90%. The announcements are still out there. It was never described as a miracle cure.

I am not an expert on vaccines, so I’d listen to what the science is saying on whether children should take it, but if it’s as safe as other vaccines (which testing suggests it is) why not?

There is a certain smugness by people who think they’re intellectually-superior because they agree with the consensus of ‘experts’. Reminds me of that guy with the blond ponytail in Good Will Hunting who just repeats quotes from books he’s read verbatim to flex on people in a bar lol.

Which brings up my point about the South African virologists who identified the Omicron variant. Are these not also experts? They’re on record saying it has mild symptoms and due to its higher transmission-rate, would replace more lethal variants like Delta. So then why are we pissing our pants worrying about increased hospital admissions and the old guilt-tripping ‘strain on the NHS’ chestnut? If Omicron spreads like wildfire, then good, let it spread and become the dominant strain.
