It doesn't work like that with Boris... May was a different kettle of fish. Grass roots Tories still support Boris and his popularity ( even with the problems) is still higher than the rest. However I do get that new MPs are frustrated with recent events.

Should resign as leader 53% (+5) Should remain as leader 28% (-2) 35% of those who voted Tory at the last election now think the PM should go. please log in to view this image
That wasn't what I said. I said he is still more popular than starter. Which is correct, although he has dropped 5 points. Still what does that say about Captain Hindsight?

Boris could yet come out smelling of roses if the current inquiry finds conclusively that he knew nothing about the 18 Dec party. We have to wait on that, and the public are in no mood to accept a whitewash. But if something dramatic happens in the meantime, Partygate will be relegated to the inside pages of the newspapers.
I actually think that Johnson is becoming as toxic for the Tories as Corbyn was for Labour before the last election.
Corbyn never had a “got Brexit done” to fall back on. I don’t really get why he bothers. He clearly hates the role and moans he’s skint. He only ever wanted to be a good time PM before waltzing off to do his drunken after dinner speeches to guffawing sycophants as an ex-PM. As soon as there’s some hard work to do he’s shown up as totally incompetent. It’s like watching the final weeks of Steve Bruce without the integrity or passion for the job.
I honestly dont think people give a flying **** about the investigation and know its just a stalling tactic. I meet many people throughout the day and week and im yet to meet one who believes a word Johnson says. Hes the architect of his own downfall. It will take someone with big bollox to stop being a nodding ****ing puppet and regain control of the party.
The inquiry is looking at three parties and there are four others being mentioned. The damage is done and this issue won't be forgotten, just as Barnard Castle hasn't been.
The damage is caused by Johnson himself as he is a proven liar. He lies to everybody with ease. Nobody apart from the ****in stupid would believe him over this.
Just take wallpapergate as another example of his bare faced lying. He tells lord geidt in feb2021 that he doesnt know who paid for the refurb yet messages have just materialised showing he asked Brownlow or whatever the ****s called for more money towards the refurb, this message was from 2020. The man just lies to anyone. Who seriously would want to deal with a twat like that. He is making us a ****in laughing stock.
With all due respect Stroller if you think that is too complicated for me why did you ever think that idiot Jezza could win? Sorry you did change your mind and say it would be a ‘hung parliament’... Funny as you are using that old chestnut again I see.
