Influential and inspirational throughout his life and explored, and contributes to, genres outside of his amazing reggae music.
    RIP Robbie.

Thomas 'Mensi' Mensforth, best known for being part of punk rock band Angelic Upstarts, has died following a battle with covid.

The singer, aged 65 experienced complications due to the disease and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and died Friday 10th December.

Tributes have been pouring in for the 'punk rock legend' who first joined the band back in 1977.

His death was announced via Instagram where a black and white photo of the star doing what he did best was posted along with the name of the band labelled over the top.

Along with the photo it said: "Today we lost a punk rock legend.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all those he inspired."

I was fortuneate in the late 80's to get complentary tickets to see the Monkeys with a select audience in Australia. The show was amazing for such a small venue. I noticed that Mike Nesmith wasn't present in the line-up and someone told me later that his mum had invented Tipp-ex...WTF! I thought. A weird world.
    RIP

Yeah, I was lucky enough to see them in the early 90s on the “Justus” tour at the BIC in Bournemouth. Considering they were just young actors at the outset - I think only Dolenz was a musician of any note? - they grasped the opportunity, came out of the TV experience with some credibility and their own compositions, and have endured.

Just Dolenz left. No fun getting old, is it?

Dolenz wasn't a musician but he was the only one with any show-biz experience having appeared as Circus Boy in the 50's, when he went around a circus riding on top of an elephant. I expect it was exciting in the 1950's...
