Our main issues lie in the playing and coaching rather than MA. For how. As Nuggets says he’s done a lot in a very short space of time and all the big signings we’re cooks; lots we’re his ex players so had to be.
in terms of charlron game : JM made two weird decisions:
1) he played a formation the players are clearly struggling with. I had hoped he’d go for a steady 3 at the back but not only 4231 but also:
2) he decided to experiment with players in other positions and leaving key men like Chaplin out. JD at Left back? Cmon. Now is really not the time to try this kinda thing.
but overall they clearly just feel deflated and rudderless without cool and JM as interim.
I'm not 100% all the signings were Cook's, there's a few which don't seem to fit his style of play plus he constantly said he likes working with a small squad.
In terms of last night, I don't think too much criticism could be laid at McGreals door he's been at the club very little time plus only had a day to work with the players, so you wouldn't want to change much at all. Which again partly puzzles me as to why someone who had been at the club longer didn't take the interim post.
I'm fairly sure Donacien actually played the majority of his time for Accrington at LB, so to me whilst he looked awful didn't seem to big of a risk to take
