Surely that depends whereabouts in London, it's a big city and like anywhere there is good and bad. Some of the most desirable places to live are in London, and some of the biggest ****holes too.

The beauty of London is that whatever direction you go,
every borough etc has it sh*tholes as well as "posh" parts,
"concrete jungles" and decent greenery (parks etc) .

I assume other cities are similar, as in London it seems to
have been driven by a general Victorian mindset.

Contrast with most USA cities, where the locales of the
"haves" and "have nots" are seriously physically separated
and appear like dystopian art made flesh.
