There were some murmurings about Raphinha so I wouldn't be completely surprised if we some traction in January.

Fabinho and Deco (agent) had said we were very interested in signing him in the summer but a deal couldn't be made.
Can't really see him moving in January unless we spend an absolute fortune, especially if Leeds are still in the relegation conversation. Summer would be more likely I think.

if you actually follow this through..... this is absolutely nothing.

liverpool.com is a site aping off our own official site having grabbed the .com name. all it does is take links to other stuff and rehash them.

in this case the sole link on mane goes back to gola.com but it is an review of the arsenal game where a couple sentences at the end deal with manes contract and merely state his agent is less vocal than salah's.

there is literally nothing about any wage demands so the Liveprool.com article title and content is click bait 100%

title: Sadio Mané makes Liverpool contract demand as Mohamed Salah makes striker 'want to cry'
Liverpool forward Mané wants to be recognised as one of the Reds' star men if he signs a new deal at Anfield, according to Goal.

goal.com
headline: Liverpool's 'other' contract dilemma: Mane's situation needs sorting, just like Salah's
Content:
There is an elephant in the room here. For months we have talked and wondered and written about Salah’s contract situation, and whether Liverpool will offer a big-money extension.
And yet Mane is in pretty much the same position; 29 years old and about to enter the final 18 months of his current deal.
He too would like to remain on Merseyside, and he too would like recognition for years of stellar service, and a salary befitting one of the world’s top players.
Sure, his agent is a little less ‘active’ on social media than Salah’s, and sure, his form has been patchier than his Egyptian counterpart over the past 12 months - whose form hasn’t? - but it is surprising, to say the least, that more has not been made of Mane’s contract status. Like Salah’s, it needs sorting soon.

In short the guy who write his match reive won goal.com made an opinion peice commenting on Mane. He offered nothing to suggest he had knowledge mane asked for anyhting.

the Liverpool.com guys grabbed it, grossly exaggerated it to get a click bait title and refered to the original quote like it was fact but in total it was a couple lines in their article.

IMo this is why people should really pay little attention to the interwebs stories. If an agent or player directly speaks then listen.
Like I said:
Smells like ****-stirring hackery to me.
Only I was too idle to put the effort into researching it.

Manchester United have contacted Brendan Rodgers about becoming their new boss and are prepared to pay £8m in compensation to land the Leicester chief.

Leicester should bite their arm off. Its all gone tits up again at Leicester.

he'll get a bit of a bounce and then be flaky and leaky at the back as per.

Given United are going for an interim for the rest of the season I highly doubt anyone has been properly contacted about taking over.

By all accounts they’re waiting until end of season to see what happens to Poch

Imo lfc are on the cusp of a new team. We are looking at a group that's really only good for this season and needing to be going into next season with new faces added or accept falling down the league.

I have no issue saying it about the front 3. They are in decent form but are also all aging and 2 want big money. The club has to show its mettle there but also be ready. Jota is a good start but no pace there and pace is so important.

2 forwards needed imo in the next two windows.

3 cms needed over next 3 windows to replace milner, henderson and keita/ox

Back line is good. Keeper is good.

5 big money signings in the 40-50mil range is 250mil.

The only way that works is if we sell mane and salah ;)

Replacing so many so quick means that as a team we would be crap for several years...

That said, as great a servant to the club that Mane has been he is not irreplaceable. Same with Firmino. Hate to see either go, but we do need to start a trickle change (nothing drastic replacing the team all at once)... But perhaps it's time to let Mane or Firm move this summer and bring in some fresher meat.

We don't want to get to the point where all three of our front line are 33 together and all needing replacing at the same time.

nah, remember klopp doesn't get it wrong.

alisson
trent Konate VVD robertson/tsmikas
(new lad 2) Fabinho thiago
salah Jota (new lad 1)

Take that for example. 2 guys added.

consider the bench

Kelleher
Gomez
Roberton/tsimikas
Milner out (new lad 3)
Ox/Kieta - out (new lad 4)
Jones
Elliott
firmino - out? (new lad 5)

Over the next windows its vital we do this freshening or we will be sat here wondering why did it all go wrong so quick.

the foundations are there for a very good team in 3 and 4 years time but that cannot included OAPs and guys going over the hill and retiring fat and happy. never could be in ye olden days and the same applies now.

We only need look at the rot that set in at utd hanging on and hanging on to trusted lieutenants. the team handed to moyes included Evra (32) ferdinanad (34), vidic (32), van persie (30 going on 40), giggs (39), carrick (32) and rooney (29 going on 50)

that was 2103/14 the replacement type players were simply not up to it. Jones, smalling, young at left back, fletcher, cleverly etc etc.

IMO we are in a decent place defensively and with some aspects of the squad but we need to do the work now to get the right players in or we will be looking at 31/32 year old salah and minamino or orirgi types still stinking the place out (which they don't they are lovely lads and all that sorry)
