Sadly I feel ever since Trump & Brexit (not calling all Brexiteers racist ) it has normalised racism.
I was even unaware of my unconscious bias until I took a good look at myself. Said it before, read Michael Holding's book. At times I thought "here we go again another black man feeling persecuted, but then when I thought about what he was saying, he was right. And my feeling was because society has taught me to feel that way.
In Britain and across the world the rise of extremists has pushed the the racism towards brown people as well as black. Trump & Brexit has just fuelled the fire and made it 'ok' to say stuff and think stuff.

I expect everyone on here who shops with Amazon, will have received the email stating that Amazon will no longer accept Visa Credit Card payments, for cards issued in the UK, from 19th January 2022.
Visa and Amazon have both stated that this issue isn’t Brexit related, something that is being echoed, unsurprisingly, by the BBC, yet Money Saving Expert, Martin Lewis, claims that it is indeed due to Brexit.
His claim is that now we are no longer in the EU the cap restricting how much Visa can charge for transactions no longer applies to the UK and that Visa HAVE increased their charges.
Whatever the truth, I don’t have a MasterCard and won’t buy goods online using a debit card as, if I am correct, they don’t offer the same level of consumer protection as a credit card.

Yes and no. Credit cards are covered by section 75 of the consumer credit act 1974. What this means in a nutshell is that using a card the Bank are responsible for any fraud/companies going bust etc as you are using their money. On a debit card, there is no credit, so are not bound by The CCA1974.
Credit cards also have a limit - once that is used thieves can't spend anymore - the limit on your debit card is effectively your available balance.
Purchases under £100 not covered - even on credit cards
There is something called 'chargeback' that covers both credit and debit cards
Fraud is fraud - banks will investigate whether you use a debit or credit card.
When you think that they can’t sink any lower, they wheel out another one who still doesn’t understand why the country is, finally, getting so upset about the government.

The problem is how to change attitudes. Education may with some people but these guys might be quite resistant to that. The only way with guys like this is to somehow make them embarrassed about their actions, Prosecute may deter others but it still does not eradicate rascism.

To paraphrase Will Self (talking to Mark Francois MP), not everyone who voted for Brexit is racist. But I bet every racist voted for Brexit.
And there is no doubt Brexit has opened the doors to widespread nationalism and xenophobia, in a country I once naively thought had left all that nonsense behind.
