Sorry. However, the vaccines will accelerate this process. The third jab has solid numbers in Israel consistently showing over 60's are 20 times less likely to have serious illness than those with only two jabs. The two jabs are handy enough on their own.

There are now multiple 'over the counter' medicines showing really good early results in trials too. Basically in a few years time (like 2 or 3) you'll get covid, nip to the chemist for a lemsip type drug and have it defeated in a couple of days.

Read an article yesterday saying Covid will be another manageable illness like flu by the end of 2022 or early 23.

It’s amazing what a vaccine can do. Would hate to have seen what would have happened without the vaccine, wonder if people would be accepting of 1,000’s a day dying while we wait for spring? Flu and Pneumonia jabs are just as brilliant as these Covid jabs.

 

Flu jabs can have an efficacy of less than 60% depending on specific years.

Pneumonia jabs are typically between 50-70%.

Pfizer is over 90%. Astrazeneca have different % due to tweaking of the vaccine early doors but is thought to be 90%+ given certain scheduling of shots.

 

Flu is a guess based on previous strains, not so sure on pneumonia. Edit: so having that level of effectiveness is brilliant IMO

Have flu each year and had some pneumonia before I started dialysis. Think I’m due a 10 year top up soon.

However, Adenovirus vaccines have shown a much larger t-cell response than mrna vaccines. For long term protection T-cell response is vital otherwise these vaccines will have to be taken every 6 months
