just noticed that yesterday (friday), denmark beat the faroes 3-1. the faroes goal came in the 89th minute and was the first conceded by denmark in 9 games of the current qualification phase. that's around 890 minutes, plus 17 extra bits added on at the end of halves. almost 15 hours of football before they conceded. julian yonssen wasn't playing.
yes, definitely one for the consolation goal category. and just when they seemed to have mastered the trick of not nodding of late on. though, to be fair, that made it 2-1 and denmark's third came in the 90+3 minute.

Agreed. Any England manager is on a hiding to nowt. Imagine us scoring 10 and 3 players pick up major injuries. He'd be slated to **** off the media and their respective clubs. IMO though, he should have gone for the jugular when Italy were reeling in the first few minutes. Game could have been over after 20 minutes. But, I'm an armchair fan so it means jack squat.
