My attempted one stopper last time out was a disaster, so I'm tempted to go with a 2 stopper. If you do Q1 on a tyre, you are then committed to that tyre for the race, right?

Edit: And Jose, I think we're in the same group!

Yes you are, as I found out when I did one race with very high tyre wear with Extra soft tyres.

Looking at the data i dont think the medium will do 2 stints on heavy fuel (just), but the hard will. Im looking at either 2 stops on the soft (giving good qualifying grid slot and pace through the race) or 1 stop on hard (gaining a big advantage when everyone pits which is a long time here). Ill crunch the numbers tonight. Also dry tyres used in Q1 will be used for the race.

I've gone for a 2 stopper on mediums at the moment. It's probably a little conservative, but never mind. After screwing up royally last time I'd at least like to be competitive this week! Q1 was a disaster, but I'm fastest so far in Q2, and second on the grid at the moment, just creeping under 3mins.

Just posted 2 fuel calculation spreadsheets on the group (one of which needs translating from Spanish!) which might be of use to people if you haven't committed to strategy yet.

Im giving up on this season, in negative money with severe part wear, just about collecting data and finishing in positive now.

Edit: Going on a one stopper for a change.

hey guys so my internet stuffed up again i miised the race. by the looks of it if medium wont last a 1 stopper and hards will id say the 2 stop mediums will be the optimal choice even tho pit in/out time is alot and is hard to overtake. i think this becauseif the mediums are just out of reach for a 1 stopper then the hards would make it comfortably and with that in mind u would loose alot more time as compared to a 2 stopper with mediums or 2-3 stops on softs ( will calculate). the idea in my opinion to find the best strattegy is to find out which tyre to use that will give u as close to 20percent tyre tread as possible when u pit. if hard tyres and mediums work out to be that ull pit with roughly 20 percent tread then it comes down to things like pit in/out time, how hard it is to overtake and so on. in this case theres a high possibilty that softs will make 2 stops so if that were to be true then u would gain more time rather than a 2 stopper on mediyums or 1 stopper on hards remembering that 1 stop on hards and 2 stops on mediums silimilar times overall. also remember that itll start with rain and possibly end with a bit of rain so it will use a tiny bit less tread. also u will qualify quicker hence starting in front of others using harder compound and even if u get stuck behind someone using harder compounds ull have quicker lap times knowing u wont be fueling as much to get the fresh air to then fly.

dnt be surprised if he doesnt start off well as his concentration is really low which means his he will qualify ok coz of his talent but his lap times will be all over the shop, he could be worked on but it will take a while so u might have to be very patient with him. there are some good drivers in the market at the moment and ones u could train up really well if u like to see them and their race averages are really good

as for the race i calcualted that softs will make 2 stops so i will be starting on dry's with 78\78\78 of fuel (3.36 litres per lap but im using bit extra each stint to be cautious. use ur practise laps to determine ur strategy. if ur driver doesnt qualify well ull want to do a 1 stop with hards or pssibly mediums (didnt get that far) or if u kno ur driver qualifiess well then ull want to qualify with higher grip tyres and lower fuel for the fresh air.

Quali over, how do people feel about the race? I've qualified 4th of 22, which I'm very happy with, and finishing anywhere near the points would be awesome!

the 40-50% rain at the end if the only problem i see, no idea what will happen there. Should be funny to see if anyone is starting on rain tyres though, that would be a race killing move right there. Good luck guys.

Starting on pole, hopefully I will get another podium or at least a top 5 finish. Main aim is to beat the guy who is 4th in the season standings.

Thats unlucky, but the pace is there so you can carry it to the next race :)

Finish 6th after a terrible first half of the race, was down in 19th at one stage, its like the team swaps driver halfway through :p

Pretty happy with my race in the end. I didn't watch is, but was pleasantly surprised to see I finished 2nd, despite being down to 10th during the rain. Unfortunately the points has boosted my drivers motivation so much that his OA is 87. Anyone know how to bring it down, I'd like to keep him into next year if possible, all the stats I want are good.

If you go $15 Million in negative then your driver will loss all his motivation.

Fitness training also drops motivation a little, but increases Stamina so he could still end up bing too high.
