Indianapolis Oval is a killer with huge wear on every part. If you start the race with close to 0 wear on all your parts you have a good chance to get some good results, as alot of people will break down.
good luck guys, looking forward to seeing how long it takes until the rain stops. Thanks for all the research Canary new calendar looks interesting as only a few tracks are from this season singapore, interlagos and fuji.
the guys in front are already over a pit stop ahead, dry tyre start has failed, dam probability, it should be dry
My thoughts exactly. Qualified 11th, now 13th, yet somehow the guy who started 12th, and pitted the same lap as me, is now third! ...Might be why he's leading the championship by a country mile.
Getting worse, pit stopp straight back into slow, heavy traffic. No chance of overtaking, no chance of any points for me. I think next race I'm putting in bigger risks.
i know the feeling, swear the guy holding me up must have 100 defend risk, this track is supposed to be easy to overtake, im definitely going to run higher risks next race!
I've screwed up too, 13th and going nowhere. Too much fuel in the first stint killed me, and I'm no quicker after stopping frustratingly.
finished 5th in the end, not bad after terrible start and constant traffic. The guy that won started next to me on the grid but made the softs last 3 stints (just). Worth noting for sure!
made my 3 stops as expected so good data made. Now to start hunting for my new driver to work on with. My current driver has been a bit useless and expensive to only get me midfiled positions. looking forword to season 28
Finished 3rd. I think I could have a chance of getting promoted as well; I am only 10 points off 4th place but even if I do not get 4th place the person in 3rd is in debt and before the race 1st and 2nd were also in debt so if I can retain 5th place and one of them stays in debt by the end of the season then I will get promoted.
Finished 6th in the end, which I'm really pleased with. Much better than I thought at the half way point. It was down to luck and other people breaking down. I do have a chance of getting promoted, as I'm 4th, and 2 of the people above me are in debt.
Last of the finishers, and way way way off the pace, very disappointing. Quali was strong, now just need to work on strategy harder!
Thoughts on the next race guys? I think this will definitely be dry tyres on a wet track to start, but strategy is going to be a bit of a guess, anyone got any ideas?
Not 100% sure yet, but at the moment I'm thinking of doing a 1 stopper on Hard tyres. Going for as long as possible in the first stint. Also Dry start for me.
Yes I think with the long pit time, hard overtaking, low fuel consumption, and medium tyre wear, the best strategy is going to be a one stopper. I am not sure what tyres to use though, probably hard tyres, but there might be a chance of medium tyres lasting.
Finished 12th in my race. Started on med tyres and ran a 2 stop strategy. Had a technical problem though and had far to much fuel on board at the end. Learning slowly though!
